I think it's only a coincidence that on each bull run, there is also a new trend in the space. Can't say new addition since some can just disappear and became obsolete (ico for example). It came once with a bang on the year 2017 when cryptos are experiencing their new ath but a year or so later, ico have fallen and replaced by ieo, ido, and others.

Bull run can sometimes take a long time to occur like 4 years, so with that long, new discoveries are likely going to come. Meme coins came in I think after ico trend but unlike ico, meme coins are useless. They don't have use cases. Even without new trends, bull run can still come on their own.

It is a matter of ambiguity when it comes to short-term trends since technological as well as economic changes are, in many ways, only instantaneous if not profoundly beneficial. Personally, I think things will be simpler when finance changes. New financial markets like crypto will receive a lot of attention on their own, and by then new features will appear to be applied in life, and of course, the mainstream of the market like BTC and ETH is still leading.

Yes, the industry is very young and after each cycle we always have new trends, new technologies created in the market. But the old technologies have not completely disappeared, web3 we have been hearing about since 2018 I remember correctly I got to know web3 through the BAT token and so far there seems to be no real hype for web3. Metaverse too, they are all very new and untapped so most likely they will be the new trend of the upcoming bull season.

This is something that's hard to predict, but if we're talking real-world use cases, it should lead to Metaverse and Web 3.0. That's because Metaverse and Web 3.0 have a connection with the real world. Moreover you ask this for 2024, Metaverse and Web 3.0 are still in development stage, IMO, not a single project about Metaverse and Web 3.0 has been completed until now.

2nd layer I think has the larger chance of striving in the future, you see matic and similar coins already having a great time in terms of gaining more and more fame and popularity. in the future they could certainly have massive increase in value if they keeps their progression just like it is.
meanwhile the other niche could always gets 2nd chance like getting revived in the future even though i'm doubtful with the flow of investments that it gonna gets in the future.

metaverse definitely could reach its glory back in the future bullrun, even though im sure that in the future the ones that gonna lead are still smart contract coins in general, since they usually the ones that got massive rally every bullrun.
NFTs in the other hand, gonna differ in two categories, NFT arts and games, the NFT arts i'm sure gonna hardly ever reaches their ATH back meanwhile the game could easily reach ATH if their development was showing the results before the bullrun comes in.

Haven't we passed all these things already? We found out that most of these use cases are short-lived, and we're yet to see another use case for crypto that will allow it to boom. Web 3.0 is something interesting, though people can't still grasp what it really is. It would be rather interesting for coin creators to make people fully understand what Web 3.0 is, and not sell their coin by saying random jargons to make it look like it's extremely technical.

It will probably be something we don't even know about. In 2015 you couldn't predict that masternode coins would run wild in 2017, nor in 2019 could you predict that every meme coin would have a run. This is how you know if there are tons of things pumping for no apparent reason it will probably crash hard sometime in the future. Leave these things along .

first of all, Metaverse never left so I don't know why you referred to it in your list as a trend that is no longer in existence. A lot of metaverse projects are being launched all the time, you should go check Seedify launchpad and see how many metaverse projects they have launched recently likewise other similar launchpads.
That being said, with the rate at which web 3 info is flying around on the internet, lots of ads on web 3 lately I think it will be the next big trend (i won't say hype) that will be very popular.
