This is complete bullshit.  On the dozen or so boards I post, spam/bots/trolls are a ubiquitous problem.  I don't know of any other board that requires newbies to sit at the kiddie table.  And has anyone actually been promoted?  I stopped coming round here months ago because of being totally ignored.  Cutting off new membership is the surest way to die.  Way to go Bitcoin Forum.

I'd like to post to the cgminer discussion thread which is out of reach from the Newbies forum. I'm having weird issues on a couple of hosts that I would like to discuss with the developer and also I'd like to post my package updates in the relevant thread instead of this forum. Please set me free. Thanks!

Hi!

I'm a native Turkish speaker and I offer Turkish English translation. Let me out so I can post my topics to marketplace instead of newbies section.

Thank you & Have a nice day.

If you have a need to be allowed into the forum beyond before you have completed the required 5 posts and 4 hours logged in, please post your request here.
Yes, please.

As author of the local bitcoin explorer, I think I have sufficiently proven I know what bitcoin is about. Wink

Hi, I would like to PM a member for certain items he/she offered to sell.  I could not do so being a newbie that's why I made my request.

Hello,

I am running a SaaS company (2nd picture down starting from the top), and I am considering accepting bitcoins for our service. We might need to add a few enterprise feature to the client UI though :-)

Best regards,

More than willing to wait out my term, but I've been following Bitcoin for months. I'm pretty versed in all the details so I won't drag down threads or anything. Either way, thanks.

I'd love to point out that the amount of hardware required to completely obliterate the security of the bitcoin network, hijack the block chain, etc. etc. is easily within reach of any considerable competitor or prospective "enemy" of bitcoin (governments, paypal, mastercard/visa, banks, etc.).

$40,000,000 of 6990s plus maybe $10,000,000 in miscellaneous hardware to get them all on the network, maybe $5,000,000 in labor gets you four times the current hashing power of the network. (1Ghash/s/6990, conservatively @ $800 a piece, current network speed of ~12,000Ghash/s)

Now, obviously, getting that many 6990s would be quite the hat trick, but any other hardware arrangement isn't going to cost considerably more for the same hashing power. Lots of people are prematurely dismissing any such attack as implausible, but the actual numbers put a new and interesting perspective on things.

Can I please get out of here?  My main area of interest is project development and there aren't a lot of topics in the newbie area related to that.

We created the bitcoin android app!

https://github.com/barmstrong/bitcoin-android

This is a new account we are sharing, and there are some big threads about our app that we've so far been unable to participate in, such as: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=26718.0

Thanks!

I would very much like to be whitelisted if deemed appropriate.  I'd like to be able to contribute to the pool threads that I use, plus I'd like to be able to contribute more to the technical discussions that go on in the general Bitcoin threads and Mining threads.

Happy to provide usernames of other forums with longstanding membership if that helps.

Thanks Smiley

I like to be white listed. Even though i created this user some time ago, their was no restriction then.
Now due to restrictions when i wanted to ask, i can't ask directly, instead have to go throw newbie forum & have to wait for some one to answer.
Please white list as soon as possible.
Thanks.

While I support this decision to keep spam down - I'd like to get to the SmartCoin forum to ask when multi-computer support will be offered. I have SmartCoin running on 1 rig and it's awesome! I understand it is the intention of the author to support monitoring multiple mining rigs from one machine - but I haven't seen any support documentation on how-to and am looking for that Smiley I would very much appreciate it if I could get whitelisted to proceed to that forum, so I can strike while the iron is hot (just donated some BTC to the author).

I would like to be able to post everywhere on the forums.  If you look thru my posts, you will see I'm not a spammer.

I'd like to be white-listed, none of the threads here are interesting. The very fact that there is a compulsory newbie area has already tainted my view of this community. It just seems so very, very pointless.
