I do think that negative trust for non-related actions (trolling, signature campaign spamming, being homophobic, etc) by default trust members reduces the value of the trust system.
Unfortunately Lauda appears to have been using the trust system in a way to try to get him more influence, trust, and what I believe to be an opportunity to pull some kind of long con. My observations reveal Lauda to be very unethical, probably less so than most scammers around here.
The fact that Lauda has the position within the trust system that he has makes the trust system effectively worthless, along with his actions within the trust system.
