I've been reading the forum for a while now but not posting. I don't mind this need for 5 posts if it helps to keep the trolling down.

I have alredy months registered, only join to read some things.... and still no have 5 post! -.- only 13 hours loged -.-
What would we a better alternative to these rules?

I have no problem with it, it helps keep the spam off the board.
Ok, so I'm past 4 hours now and my post count is growing. Soon I will not care what a pain it was to wait and show fake interest - "Hey, at Starbucks there's a new barrista. Have you seen her?". "Yes, she makes the best frappuccino!". "Yes, right, and the flavor is so light ..." and so on an so forth just to prove I'm human and not a bot ...
IMHO there are ways to prove your humanity instantly. As for fending off trolls - these actually thrive on pushing their agenda no matter the subject and wont quit unless banned.

Its good rule, it encourage spam but is keept in newbie section 
I'm still waiting for my 4-hour limit, but I think it is a good rule in principle.
It makes you post 5 times, so you get the habit and will (hopefully) add value to the community. It filters spammers (not sure how effectively). I just think the 4-hour "activity" should be replaced by 1-hour activity + some delay (4h? 8h?) after creating the account...

Exactly. I think this is a good rule to keep spam away. Btw. I am a full member and I still often post in the newbie forum.
I vacillate between it's silly, it's bullshit, to they need to make it longer and make it more posts, especially after a whole screen on some threads of 6 post trolls just douching up a storm.
It's really no big deal. Other than the posting part, you can basically automate the "four hours" part if you aren't a total retard. Or hey, you could actually spend four hours reading the forum.
