I recently came across this article in Quora, and I wonder how accurate and verified this information is:

think about it this way, can you figure out "accurately" how much bitcoin i own? or can someone figure out how much bitcoin you own? and that's while we are both publishing a lot of information about ourselves on the internet (addresses in profile, posted elsewhere, linked addresses,...)!
so now the answer is simple, the information there is not accurate at all. it is all a guess specially when it comes to large amounts since those owning larger amounts are more careful about their privacy.

from your article, it is very surprising what assets you have. especially for sathosi who has the most. of course, ownership becomes logical because to maintain the balance of the projects it develops. To validate the truth, I personally don't know either, but with the project owner holding the biggest assets, I think bitcoin is safe to invest

I've always been interested in this question, but I found a lot of confusing information.
I recently came across this article in Quora, and I wonder how accurate and verified this information is: https://www.quora.com/Who-holds-the-most-bitcoins
According to this article, it seems that Satoshi holds the most bitcoins, between 600,000 and 1,600,000 BTC.
The following are the Winklevoss brothers, with 91,666 bitcoin.
Next is Barry Silbert with 48,000 BTC.
Next in order are Tim Draper with $250,000 worth of BTC and Michael Novogratz with his crypto net worth to be around $700 million – $1 billion.
Do you agree with this assessment from the article or do you have more credible and accurate information?

This list may not be exact, but it gives you an idea of the 100 richest Bitcoin addresses. You don't need to know who has the most Bitcoins, all you need to know is which addresses have the biggest amount of Bitcoins and how long they've been inactive.

Assuming you want to use it as an indicator of a trend reversal in the market or other analysis related to large movements of bitcoins.

the names do have a fairly large level of trust and I'm sure also the level of wealth will be comparable. I do not have deeper information about people who have a lot of bitcoin, maybe the source you write can be a reference for us and if there are other sources, then make a comparison

We know how powerful bitcoin is especially in making transactions in the market anonymous, we don't even know if they still hodl that huge amount of bitcoin. But some personalities that you've mentioned for me I think is not really having that much volume. I know that the creator of the company bit instant is one of the huge hodlers of bitcoin based from the documentaries that I've watched, in addition, with regards to how much bitcoin satoshi has, there is no clear evidence that will prove it. Imagine, if you are the creator of the worlds leading currency technology, would you tell the world how much you have? absolutely not.

Me.  I own the most bitcoins.  Prove me wrong?
Nice joke. It is probably wrong. You will be quite busy to trade your Bitcoin if you have the most. I've checked your post history, your current posts were not in economics or trading discussion, so it means you are not monitoring the market trends. This makes me doubt that you are one of the people holding the most Bitcoin.

However, I think your intention is to make us aware that no one knows who is holding the most Bitcoins. Am I wrong?   Smiley
That is his point, this article is just an assessment and anyone can say that they own most of the bitcoins.
He just stated that he owns most bitcoins and no one can prove that, the same as the article posted above.

Yes, he's just being sarcastic here and just makes us think that this is only an assessment and no one can prove this, and no one really knows who holds most of the bitcoins.

Me.  I own the most bitcoins.  Prove me wrong?
No one can prove that you’re wrong because we don’t know your hidden bitcoin address. This statement proves to us that we can’t fully know who holds the most bitcoin because being anonymous really matters here. Anyone can claim that they hold a lot of bitcoin but it will take you years or decade to know is its real or not, imagine the number of bitcoin address, you’ll just stress yourself here.

But if you own the most bitcoins, are you gonna be here roaming around the forum? Because more than likely, you are already enjoying your life, an early retirement perhaps. So why bother to make your life so hard if you are already a wealthy man?
Being a wealthy man is not just about early retirement and enjoying your fortune. What is wrong around roaming and communicating here? The forum who supports what made you wealthy and financialy stable. Joining discussion here does not make your life hard, perhaps it really helps you because you are gaining knowledge from other people.

Do you agree with this assessment from the article or do you have more credible and accurate information?

The list came up from the author's own research, so basically, it was derived and extract from other sources that we might also found lurking on the web and the author just complied it.

Whether the information about the numbers was accurate or not to consider by the others, just take it as a good reference and additional knowledge. The information stated per name and individual came up with a valid basis so you can bet that was somehow true.

who holds the most, or who owns the most? it makes a difference.

coinbase probably holds the most (on behalf of its customers), with nearly 1 million bitcoins in its cold storage wallets. https://beincrypto.com/coinbase-holds-a-whopping-966230-bitcoin-7b-in-cold-wallet/

if the upper estimates for satoshi's coins are correct, then he rules both categories. i'm skeptical that satoshi really mined a million coins though.

Those names that has been mentioned in the article might have got the increased number of bitcoin, but that doesn't gives the accurate holding. We get to see everything transparent, but there is very minimal chances to know about the end users.

As in one of the quote I own the most bitcoins, prove me wrong. Such statements can be true as well as false, how to believe.

The answer is coming from a guy who said "My Top List" so maybe it's his personal list quite not be accurate? You can easily find out which addresses hold the most bitcoin than their actual identity. I personally found this very disappointing,

Quote
It has been estimated by some that up to 40 percent of all possible bitcoins are lost.. lost keys, accidentally erased hard drives.
So the current market just runs on 60% of the bitcoins? Not sure if that information is accurate as well.

As you've said, it's only assesment. To my opinion it's hard to know the exact number that one is holding and I don't know any source of that information that would be completely accurate.
In fact I think that owners of largest amount of Bitcoin don't actually want that public knows how much Bitcoins do they have, it's not in their best interest. Although people are very curious such information could be easily misused.
