People with more money than sense will all buy a rtx 3090. I myself will get 1 x rtx 3080 and only 1 to play games, not to mine and I advise to do the same but remember what I said, buy to play games, not to mine.

I will buy a cheap one the 3070.

Back in 2016, a gtx 1070 made a lot more sense to buy than the gtx 1080, this time nvidia destroyed any advantage a rtx 3070 would have x rtx 3080 concerning price performance.

Do you think it's a good deal or are you getting one to benchmark?

It's stupid buying this card for mining purpose because the hashing rate you will get won't worth the money, with 700$ you can buy few  rx470 and rx580 on ebay and get ROI much faster, I will wait till price drops before considering

Who is going to pick up a few RTX 3090s (or 3080s, 3070s) ?

"Nvidia has finally detailed its new line of video cards, which is under the new Ampere architecture. Specifically, the RTX 3080, 3070, and 3090 cards were revealed. These are the second generation of RTX cards that will run features like real-time ray tracing with much higher performance than current RTX cards.

The RTX 3080 is set to launch on September 17 for $700 USD, and the RTX 3070 was also revealed with a release window in October and a price of $500. The massive high-end card, the RTX 3090, is said to be capable of 8K resolution at 60 FPS performance--the RTX 3090 will launch on September 24 and pricing starts at a whopping $1500. RTX 3000 series pre-orders are not yet available, but Nvidia's website does have a "notify me" button if you're eager to place an order. Traditionally, a new line of GPUs sells out quickly when they first go up for pre-order, and that could easily be the case here due to Nvidia's surprisingly aggressive pricing."
