Personally, I like cristiano better. He looks like a hardworker for me. He started from the bottom (or so as I heard). However, if you have seen messi playing. That's really awesome. I like both of them. Let's not debate and fight each other to show who's the best. Just enjoy football as much as you can by look at they play.
If you count retired player, without no doubt I will vote for zinedine zidane. In and outside the field he just delightful to watch.

Maradona is a football legend. Even school children are always called by his name those who are good at playing football.
