The problem seems to be that the name "Get Cash" may be more apposite. This is the unfortunate state of the modern Internet.

I found something probably wrong:
- shitposters will not able to get thousands of merits (15k) like this.
- making thousands of posts (583k) likely cause permanent ban due to plagiarism. Most of shitposters end with permanent bans.

If you turn into someone like this, you should ask theymos to change the account name from Jet Cash to Jet Trash. I just kidding.  

With the Internet, we can all indulge our fantasies.

Wow, glad to see some users that are doing well in the forum. This is not very common thing to happen in the forum with this users around that is already in the doing here from the start of the bitcoin forum. Well just wish to know also who were the users with huge activities in the forum. It will definitely help especially in their feedback with the changes regarding with the past and present of the forum.

 In a few decades when the reward gets too small, the merit will become the main compensation for users.  I'm sure that in 20 years there will either be very large active or no activity.

I am much much behind you people.
Though I do not expect and do not see any possibility to become number one in achieving this goal.  But today I have determined that I will try my best to visit the forum daily without fail.  And I pray that both I and the forum are alive after 27 years (I pray for all of you friends too), then I maybe able to complete the task in  say 28 years or more provided I am present and posting here daily.

When someone reach the threshold at 10.010 activity count, they will get the new rank / badge, something like 'Elite'?
I think that the threshold at 10.010 is more appropriate one, than 2000.
Why?
Even, by now, Hero and Ledgendary ranks have same rights in the forum, so I think we should have an extremely high threshold for next rank.
The next rank, probably gives forum members who have it, a more respectful view from others (no more rights/ priviledges).

This needs more precise numbers, dates, and times.  On the unverified assumption that theymos (uid 35) has the oldest consistently active, still-active account, I have calculated based on him.  In addition to the precise timestamp at or after which theymos may exceed 10k activity, I have also included that at which theymos will become eligible to exceed one million activity:  24 November 4748 (a Wednesday) at 12:40:00 UTC.  Rank:  The Mega-Activity Club!

(Dang.  Now, theymos will make garbage posts whining about how slow it is to rank up.)

The following states the timestamps at or after which theymos could instantly reach the stated activity level, if his post count exceeds his activity by not less than 14.  On that condition, his activity would actually reach the stated level upon his next post at or after that time.

That’s setting the bar too low.

There are users such as theymos whose leadership status naturally draws (and deserves) floods of merit; theymos will probably reach 10k merit in a matter of months.

Even ignoring such special cases:  In my experience, an excellent poster who can devote huge amounts of time to the forum should conservatively expect to average about 20–25 merits per day.  That equates to 10k merits in 400–500 days.  Unless I need to reduce the time I spend on the forum (as is quite possible), I will be disappointed in myself if I fail to surpass 10k merit before I reach Hero rank.

(It is for this reason I advocate at least doubling or trebling the merit threshold to achieve Legendary rank.  Even for people who can’t devote so much time to posting, to earn 1000 merit in a few years is far too easy to be considered “Legendary”.)

To match the spirit of the original question about 10k activity, it is necessary to kick it up an order of magnitude:  Who will be the first user to achieve 100k merit?  Again excluding special cases such as theymos, estimating at the above-stated rate, and rounding very roughly, that should take about 11–14 years.

Bear in mind that theymos will reach his eighth forum-birthday next week, and there should be some other consistently active accounts of comparable age.  With that perspective—or really, an adult perspective, 11–14 years is not terribly long.

(I will be horrifically disappointed if I fail to achieve one megamerit by the year 2155!  —Well, actually not.  But it’s a fun thought.)

You're right. I actually didn't think of this until you said it. You deserve a merits. And maybe this post will be the first post to break theymos topic and reach ten thousand merits - well, the chances isn't that high though. xD.

As far as I know BCT will keep both Activity and Merit.
Correct me if I am wrong, even a Newbie with 1 quality post can reach 10k merit if 1k people gave 10 merit each but reaching 10,010 activity is still exclusive to active Legendary members.

In my opinion, instead of renaming the thread, it is more relevant to have a new thread instead. 

I might have to rename the thread "Who will reach Merit of 10,000 ??"

The new forum software might be ready before then meaning old activity measures may well be retired.

Positions can change over time, even BitCoin is having something of a Renaissance of sorts nudging closer to $ 2,000 USD every day.

I consider your idea rather smart or stupid. Yes you can stimulate their motivation for the prize but thinking about you will gwt it for what? 20 years?! Who can wait that long for an amazon card! You can earn here by signature campaign and buy yourself that card in less than 20 years. Plus, who runs a contest for 20years? Maybe the dares you and your buddies take.

You might be able to get 10k activity, but will you be able to answer this question - Will it be in the new forum or old forum? 

Interesting exercise... If it depends on me, Bitcoin, the forum and myself will be here However 27 years is too much of a stretch for us to predict anything based on anything more than a feeling or a supposition...

27 years is a long time I dont know if I would be here or even alive but if I would live till then,I would definitely be one among those who have 10k activities

How so?  The info is based on Jan 15 - the last time I scanned your profile.  I see your activity has jumped up a few since then, and that will be updated.

This a very interesting question. I am going to follow this and hopefully 20 years (or so) later, we will know the result. Some people currently on the top list may forgot to post, go coma or (worst) die suddenly (not pointing at anyone) so the top few people may not be the first one. I am sure this thread is going to be a very hot topic in the coming years - as long as Bitcointalk continue.

Looking at some of the current posts, we need to copy some of the features in Bitcoin. As the activity increases, we need to increase the level of difficulty, and halve the rewards.

Of course I am talking about posters with an activity level below 1,000 here.

Logically thinking, if the forum is still here then I would expect that theymos would also be here with it. Considering that he currently has the highest activity by a decent margin, he would likely be the first to hit it providing the first case happens.
However, I would personally be very surprised if the forum was still here by the time users could reach 10k activity. Prove me wrong though

My guess is that it will directly correlate with whether bitcoin price continues to rise.  I have noticed when price is not changing much, the older users posts and logins start to slow down.  But if things keep increasing year after year, you can bet there will be some dedicated users around as long as things remain interesting.

Hopefully by the time users 10k activity, the price of bitcoin is over 10k

Just a little bit of lighthearted fun for a change; Who will be the first user to reach 10,010 activity?

Activity 10,010 will take 715 fortnights and equates to roughly 27.5 years

Some members have been here since 2010, so will come up to 7.5 years with just another 20 years to go very soon.  I myself have been here for about 3.5 years with activity 1022 have chalked up just on 10% of the time. There are actually a few UID's that have alread chalked up 10,000 posts, so all they would have to do is log back in once per fortnight for the next 20 years and post just once per fortnight from now on.

Can you make it?  Will the forum still be here?  Will BitCoin?  Time will tell.
