I will do wonder for YOU!!!
There will be a time that they will also claim the Philippines stating that it is part of the business route... They say they have maps to support it.  You see, they are also sending some naval boats to Philippine rise even though it was located at the other part of the country or on the Pacific Ocean Side... So I think, China is trying to bully small countries like the Philippines where they think can easily be dominated when the war will actually arise.  They are not even trying to prevent or talk diplomacy to North Korea to stop their missile testing.  That will actually trigger a world war. Tsk tsk....

Whats the point again of debating this old issue? Its already done and the Philippines won. Its just the matter of enforcing it but it would take more years because China already built military bases on the islands.

Its the fault of the Philippines for not defending their own territory, you let them rape you.

this is an image China has been building in your own territory and you didn't done anything since 2014 while they are enjoying raping your country

If you relly on your allies it could trigger a war remember when U.S got involved in S.China Sea they are provoking China and your country would be another war zone

Difficult to say, probably the one who has the force to take it. We could also ask: who has more right over the Falklands islands?

To find out who is entitled to the South China Sea depends on the deal of who is dispute in that area? in order to avoid tension in the southern chinese sea area in priority dialogue it in my opinion
If there is already a decision with the whole issue, why then is China not adhering to the solution already, the UNITED NATIONS should make a decision that settles this once and for all so that it doesn't run into an armed conflict.

Good luck getting the UN to do anything about it. And good luck with America making good with its "commitment" to keep the sea lanes open.

Hmmm... I think the South.

Or maybe China.

Both sides have equal arguments in the question...

They were already illegal. No change there. It’s questionable whether China ever even bothered to assert they were “legal” in the sense of coming from international maritime law. They were always unilateral assertions based on vague “historic rights”. In 2009 China’s response to UNCLOS was the dashed-line map and no further explanation. There is still no agreement on what the line means. One of the other answers to this question asserts China does not claim rights over the waters of the sea, and at least one other Chinese on Quora has asserted this also. Other Chinese disagree completely. In China it is not important whether the claim is well-defined, it’s important whether you pledge allegiance to it.

In my opinion, China must respect the boundaries given by UNCLOS. Here is a map:

The Chinese claim is in the red dash line, and it can be clearly seen that their claims don't have any historical or legal basis. The other nations need to stand unite, to fight against the Chinese bullying.

border disputes are just issues meant to rile up the citizens so they think there isn't one entity ruling over everyone. do you really think the chinese elite and the western elite care who controls that area? no. they all profit from it.

China has been claiming a huge part of the territory of the Philippines over the South China Sea or also known as the West Philippine Sea, they are justifying their claim by saying that they have a historical right over that certain area due to the "9 dash line". However, following the UNCLOS, it is clear that the Philippines is the one that has right over that certain area. I want to know your stand and please do provide some supporting legal basis.
