I'm not selling anytime soon. I'm in for the long run so I'm not trading right now. On top of that I'm still locked in siacoin so I cannot really trade without taking a big loss. Will probably day trade a little bit when I got some fresh income.

We should all be here for the long haul specially in bitcoin. Really hard to touch our bitcoin now since the price is really too high. Day trading is understandable, but letting go of your whole stash right now is that a good idea.

I actually think it is a good idea to sell now from a trading standpoint, because it is clearly reaching a peak and you are supposed to sell high (and buy low). With that said, it realistically does not make much difference seeing as the price will be $1,000,000 someday so it makes perfect sense to just HODL too. And that is what someone I know is doing and you can't blame them. Smiley

Just like what I said, for traders, its make sense to sell some and just go and play around with it. But don't sell your total investment. Just a small portion will do and try to make more money out of it.

The hype will get it to $5000 perhaps tomorrow. Then, it cannot be sustained for long.
I reckon Wednesday max and then inversion!
Keep buying altcoin at the moment might be very wise too!

I don't know if it can reached $5000 by tomorrow. I know it cannot be sustained and there may be a dips, but I don't expect that dip that much, max dip I can speculate is 5% only before investors started to buy back bitcoin again.

i imagine the face of people if tomorow morning Bitcoin is back to 350 USD haha Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
well you just want to scare people, I bet if you have some bitcoin then you will never talk like this, because it’s just a foolish act to spread rumors like this, I admit there is a drop in price but this drop is not so much huge, these kind of little drops happens in every currency but this did not mean that huge drop happen, so I advise traders to hold you coins.

Always Act Smart and Play Safe With Your Funds
It's not a wise decision to sell bitcoins when it's highly expected to reach $5k or more soon but sometimes you have to take some harsh decisions arising out of the need so that's only when I sell some amount of my bitcoins otherwise I'm determined to hold them as long as I can and I'm sure I'll make more off it in the near future than I can now.

Been slowly selling Segwitcoin for BitcoinCash. Segwitcoins are not worth close to this amount. Play smart.

Of course these times are not good to sell as the prices have taken a one way trend and upwards only and so even though it drops intermittently it rises back up again.

Why sell now, don't like money?  You will not feel too smart when you realize you could wait a few days and he $3,000 more for it.

It's not wise to sell bitcoin nowadays, not today and not even tomorrow. It's price might keep on pumping till the end of the year. It's better to hold your bitcoin as long as you can. The only reason for you to sell bitcoin is when you really need money, but as much as possible try not to sell, just keep your btc if you want to get rich.

This thread can be better to be fit for Speculation section and there are many threads which speaks for same thing. Bitcoin value has a fluctuation kind of tendency, we cannot think this will happen or not. Just wait for some months and then we need to decide about it.

Nobody is really selling, people are just making some correction to their investment by reinvesting the money they have. This is best strategy to earn big amount of money if you have time and patience. You can actually sell your bitcoin at this highest point and then wait for bitcoin to come down to little bit so that you can re-buy bitcoins at little lower than previous one. As you are already buying these coins for the profits that you had earlier then it is complete profit even if the price doesn't move more than enough. Thats great way to work with bitcoin. So though the price is dropping and if you think its because of people selling it then its been done with smart mind!

As for me, I believe who ever sell his or her bitcoin now did so for a purpose and not because of panic of decline in the market value of Bitcoin in time to come. I believe bitcoin value will reach  $10,000 in no distances time, but that doesn't mean if I pressing need for money I should not sell because it may become a lost to me.
Sooner or later you will still have to sell your Bitcoin. The fact is that today's life requires a lot of money for daily needs, so Bitcoin will be sold by almost every user in one way or another. Of course you need to save a certain amount for the future price. I think that even small amounts in the future, after increasing several times, will carry very good profits.

As other people said already, this could be some traders trying to get many cheap altcoins.
Or... perhaps they are some trading bots on autopilot ?

Not to mention that relative price of BTC vs ETH is high, that is actually a good moment to get some ETH or other alt coins at relatively low price - when BTC start to adjust, money will flow to alt coins and boost the price.

Need some spare btc for a new PC
and then what? then when the price hits $8000, then you'll be saying "why sell now? the price of $10000 will be a in a month..." and that will continue for some time until you need money for some reason or until the price starts going down drastically. So why just stop at $8000 then?

Say you have 30.2BTC -> then i will definitively sell 0.2 just for fun and just to get a new iphone.

Also keep in mind that Segwit 2x second part is a hardfork, I'm pretty sure the price will adjust before that, so it may be wise to reduce the holdings by some percentage, just in case.

It's not really wise to sell bitcoin now, the trend is going up as time goes by. But, we can't blame anyone who sells bitcoin. There's a lot of reason to sell, maybe they need money or they need to invest they're money somewhere. We don't really know, but I think a lot of people are aware of it, they might have a good reason to sell.
