Simple, like in Forex:

USD goes up, Euro goes down.

The ultra lower coins do this. The upper ones have their own buy/sell ecosystem which is tied to Bitcoin but also Fiat and its own volume demand.

So:

Bitcoin goes up, CrappyCoin goes Down.

Bitcoin goes up, Ethereal goes up.

Bitcoin is pulling everything up with it at the moment. It seems BTC and Alts are coupled.

Bitcoin may be pulling the entire crypto space, but alts are increasing at a faster rate than Bitcoin itself.
On the way down, the fall in alt prices will be quicker too.  Grin
I do no think that bitcoin has any concern with altcoin. I think those people who want to invest in altcoin they do that n any condition, some time the price of bitcoin start increase and so on the price of some altcoins. while other altcoins prices drops, so its  not necessary to say that when the price of altcoin start increasing then the altcoin down.

I think when bitcoin rises, people will sell other currencies in their hands to enjoy the wealth appreciation brought by bitcoin rising.
in fact most of the people here belong to average families and they can afford to invest limited amount of their assets so they move their assets from one place to another when they find some room to get profit. i think that can be the only reason that they move their investment from one place to another

You can make money in a correction by selling on margin. Corrections are welcome for me!

That is what I'm afraid of. All theses noobs have never seen a correction and they will freak out during the next one.

One of the world's leading Bitcoin-powered casinos
i'm begin. what happen !   Huh Huh
This is totally simple , the most of the people ( traders of Bitcoin as well altcoins ) want to make profit in any ways , so when the big fluctuations arise in the Bitcoin market then they hold Thier Bitcoin and hold until the fluctuations got stopped at once .
During the time of the hold Bitcoin , they do the altcoin trading in very less extent.
Overall this is usual thing , beside of the price of the Bitcoin the value , the price of the altcoins depends upon the demand at the exchange  .
So here I will suggest you to just hold your Bitcoin at the exchange and start the trading when you find easy to do and make profit .

Well the logic is simple, as when the bitcoin prices rises, the people sell their altcoins to enjoy the ride with bitcoins and get lots profits. While when bitcoin prices tends to fall, people move out of bitcoin and keep their funds in altcoins which makes altcoin price to rise.

The Rise and Fall pattern is mostly due to the activities of  cryptocurrency Traders. They sell their Bitcoin to buy Altcoin and vise versa.
Sometimes though Bitcoin tend to rises together with Altcoin... I think is due to new money coming into Bitcoin market

The average person will make a profit when the bitcoin price goes up by selling the bitcoin or altcoin he has. Once the price is stabilized they will buy back the potential bitcoin and altcoin. But most of this is a whale to manipulate the price.  Embarrassed

Are you kidding? Everything is up in a bizarre looking way. Not sure what to make of these new valuations.  And while they are different, if you read the story on how Paypal got going it will give you insight into what needs to be done for BTC.

Bitcoin grows, people sell alts. Bitcoin drops, people sell btc. Right?

ehm... not every time. Seems at the moment it changed to: btc grows = alts follow.
For me thats a little bit going in the direction that bitcoin will be just a coin between other coins in several years. Just guessing how it could come.
However, when all markets grow that means there is fresh capital from the outside flowing in. Good sign.

There is always a small relation in the market move taking place with bitcoin and altcoins. Traders hold huge volume of cryptocurrencies and based on the price pumping move the assets towards a particular point to profit big. This in turn creates added volume to the capital causing the bitcoin to pump and alts fall in value.

When Bitcoin surges altcoins usually dumps, so people take advantage to buy the dips. But not all alts dumps when btc rises. I think people sell alts when they see btc pumps so that they can convert bitcoin to fiat or/and also buy dips from alts vice versa.

In my opinion, because mostly Bitcoin is the center of the trade. And currently Bitcoin is on surge in just 2 days it rise up to a 200$. And I agree that it is not always that when Bitcoin goes up everyone coin goes down. The tendency for an Altcoin to be profitable is to watch it's rise in its fluctuation on how many was sent out and how much it rises everyday.

I don't think this is always true, because most of the time the price of most Altcoins goes up in USD value when BTC rally, it is onlt against BTC that their value dump. This is expected because there are only about 16 million currently in circulation and when price goes up, that means less people are selling their BTC

If we observe the current conditions then there will be a different one, once when Bitcoin rises it automatically altcoin down but now almost nothing like that, even if there is a decrease in altcoin prices when Bitcoin rises it is just a moment and instantly altcoin can go up again, and this is quite surprising.
