Because there aren't very good news about bitcoin / nobody want to pump up the price  Huh

We just need to get sites like Amazon and other big sites to start accepting Crypto Currency!

That will give us a higher price! Smiley

Merchant adoption usually results in downward pressure during the short term.  Wink

That's right, i would be happy  Cheesy

I would disagree. It is correct that many merchants convert their BTC revenue to fiat as soon as they receive it, however before someone can spend BTC at amazon for example they first need to purchase BTC either from a trader, or on an exchange. This creates upward pressure on the price.

Additionally IMO, it is unlikely that someone would buy the exact amount of BTC that they want to spend at amazon for example, they would likely buy more then the total purchase price so they end up with additional bitcoin then they started with (none) after their purchase. This creates a net positive effect on price.

Another point is that when big merchants announce they are accepting bitcoin, it often makes the news, creating additional awareness about bitcoin, and potentially getting additional people to buy bitcoin and spend it places that would not convert it to fiat right away.

Are you happy now?you cant complain about prices anymore.

Still not down to where I feel comfortable buying 100. Smiley

Dont be greedy,Buy now Grin

I do have some. Buying 100 right now would require putting my eggs in too few baskets, though.

If I could somehow invest in "some distributed virtual currency either now in existence or yet to be created", I might be willing to go all in. Even then you've still got one of the biggest risks - that governments come in and somehow declare virtual currencies utterly illegal.

I think the ship has sailed on any major government declaring Bitcoin illegal.  Most have weighed in and have said it is legal but they want certain aspects to be regulated.  Could things change?  Sure, but it seems unlikely.

I'd guess that because except for a few fervent denialists, the market already reacted to Gox's obvious insolvency weeks ago.

welp, bitcoin was moving like a sky diver tonight.   I saw two separate 1k btc sell orders around $430, and then a 2k btc sell order.   Each completely cleared the wall at stamp...we are slowly recovering a little now.  Everyone was watching stamp, but huobi had even more volume than that...

Seems to be settling a little right now...

I haven't been to this thread in a while, but BTC prices are definitely moving now...just in the completely wrong direction.   I wonder where we are going to stabilize off.  I will admit that I thought we had hit the bottom, and purchased some more, so I am definitely in the red on those coins so far Sad

Until gox is officially done the price is going to drop further. Mark Karpeles resigned from the board of bitcoin foundation earlier today. It would also appear the gox is down, perhaps for good.  Things are going to get much worse before they get better, if they get better than the price currently is.

I feel for anyone who has money in gox right now. Pretty sure they can kiss that money goodbye.
