I believe that it is the price fluctuation which scares the people and prevents them from investing in cryptocurrencies. On the other hand, governments are pressurizing citizens through the unconstitutional manner by issuing an order to the central banks to stop giving services to the companies associated with cryptocurrency exchanges. Some negative media stories are also responsible to create the chaos in the environment that is affecting the perception of the people towards Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies out there in a negative sense.
Every year people become not trusting, especially when it comes to investing. Unwillingness to invest their capital to increase it is due to logical reasons: in our time banks have become very often closed, and not only commercial banks. Fear that the invested funds in the same stocks, deposits, precious metals do not return to their owner back, prevails everything. So in my opinion people are afraid to put a kopeck into the bank, not to mention the crypto-currencies.
Most people around the world have a total ignorance about cryptocurrencies, or just negative ideas about them, so they aren't really encouraged to invest their money in this digital currencies.
