It's become the new 'Bitcoin will be $50,000 by Christmas' except in the opposite direction. I'll bet the handful of Youtubers left wittering about this also have an affiliate link to Bitmex in their description.
Could it happen? Sure. More than a few are acting like it's already in the bag and as we well know the direction is usually maximum pain for the majority.

But you have not provided a single piece of evidence or a plausible argument that will provide some basis for your price forecast. You are making predictions based on your sense of pain. We have to make predictions without feelings
Bitcoin price in USD doesn't matter and nobody can predict it.
when the price was $10,000, who had 0.01 BTC had $100 and who had 0.1 had $1000 and who had 1 btc had $10,000. Now imagine today: 0.01 btc and the person has $35

Perhaps they all want to influence people with these kinds of ideas and collect coins from cheaper price. Because, there is not enough evidence to make an idea about close to the right price prediction. The analysis is insufficient in the face of Crypto's obscurity. All I know is that Bitcoin is known by more and more people every day and this will bring us happy ending.

all we have these days is a bunch of newbies trying to make what they have lost by creating content everywhere and trying to make money from that. for example their bullshit youtube videos is a nonstop wave of worthless content trying to make pennies.

Before this days, I never envisaged bitcoin could drop to $12,000. So after a massive fall without bottom in site, am now tempted to believe any predictions. My elder brother I introduced to bitcoin once had an horrible dream that bitcoin price went to zero-zero. He quickly cashout at $17,000, I laughed at him. Today he is a happy man and here doing some revelation journey. So my guy, anything is possible.

In a situation like this, decline in price, of course there will be many people who make predictions based on the feelings they get. This can be caused by despair or other negative things. For me, ups and downs are normal. Many have the same sentiment that bitcoin will go down to the bottom of thousand us dollar per bitcoin or even worst at 80 us dollars each. However as the sentiment of many becomes more negative and hopeless this are the signs that bitcoin has already bottomed and will soon start its reversal that will reach an all time high. Hopefully that many are still holding their bitcoin and will soon see profit from their investment.
Well, the situation is negative and a waiting time is too long for recovery, all pushed a lot of people have strong faith in Bitcoin become people that have negative thoughts, they always think bitcoin will fall deeper and deeper, exactly they always think what's worst will happen. It's all over the place... you can see people predicting Bitcoin will go down to $1,000 and others saying it will go up to $100,000. Some will be right, but most will be wrong and there's no way to know it until it happens.
Right, so it's only speculation. It's not difference with me like say "I guess the price of bitcoin will be hit $20,000 gradually after down till $2000". Let's see it in the near future..

Because according to their calculations, or their crystal ball, they see a drop to $1000.
And who are these 'prominent enthusiasts' anyway? This is a very one-sided claim, I think. Because Ronnie Moas (in crypto since 2013) says it will be $28k by the end of this year; CCO of Bitpay says it's gonna be between $15k-$20k; Mike Novogratz says it will be $20k and so on. Some people say it will fall, others say it will grow. I hope the latter are right, because I am among those people who did not sell at $20k. I sell some btc now when I need money, but I also have some of it that I intend to hodl as long as it takes until the price is around $15k. Because according to their calculations, or their crystal ball, they see a drop to $1000.

Everyone can say what they want because this is a open and free market. And everything is possible as well, $1K is not the far and in just a couple of days of selling, the price could be reach. However, you have to question the reason behind of what these so called prominent crypto enthusiast (according to you) as saying that the price could hit that low. Take for example, Jamie Dimon's prediction last Sept 2017, his been attacking bitcoin but behind. they are buying literally tons of it when the price is dipping. So you don't have to believed everything to hear from this so called "prominent crypto enthusiast".

People can make predictions about what they want but its not the determining factor. The same set of people are the ones that would be full of several predictions about how price is heading for the moon should a minor push should just happen. The bone of contention is that whatever they like they can say, its not what makes price what it is.

But it feels good to see your name in the news and some may even call you "prominent". This way many nobodies can become "known" persons that may at some point become even trend setters because some think they know what they are talking about.
