It is obvious for you but sadly not everyone is like minded like you, some are easily roused into these pit traps and that is okay as that is not their fault (unless third time you have been conned), continuous education online is really helpful as it will reach the vast nook and crannies of Internet and people will surely reach it and hopefully saved themselves from possible pit traps that might encounter.

Some hope to earn easily and they fall from those kind of platform, we see so many events of scamming especially on social media and glad there are guys like OP who's knowledgeable about those things and educate his friends about how those scam site works and to avoid it. I believe their are so many attempts like this will be created, so continuous education about scams should really needed to make newbies aware.

Some weeks ago, I told two of my friends about bitcoin and how to use it, I tried to devote my time for them. The two of them like bitcoin  they were interested. I opened electrum wallet for them. After some weeks, it was even yesterday, a friend of mine contacted me using Whatsapp, he told me what he saw online, that it is even possible to double bitcoin online. He wanted to double his bitcoin, I told him that it can be a scam that he should send me the link.

Code:
https://bitcoindoubler.tech/

The website want people to deposit a minimum amount of 0.002 bitcoin to a maximum of 10 bitcoin, that in 10 hours the bitcoin will double. I told him immediately not to do it that it is a scam. I would have blamed myself for telling my friends about bitcoin, but I was happy because he did not send his bitcoin but told me about it before doing anything. But why are scam very obvious now, some are even having domain and nothing done about it. Is it because cryptocurrencies are not regulated the way it suppose to be or this is just how the world is?.

I guess it's easy to make this kind of website and then just wait for someone or newbies that don't have enough knowledge in bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

They just need to wait for people to fall in their trap, when I was first starting in bitcoin I always want to invest in this kind of websites hoping to an easy profit but just end to be a small companies scam.

There are always a lot of opportunities for them to scam and I guess they really earning a big profit in scamming people that's is why they are not stopping to this kind of method, some people intentionally invested in the websites since you could easily earn at some point when you have a lot of referral in the websites, a lot of people are just getting encouraged by someone they don't know to invest.

We can double your money = scam
We can tipple your money = scam

It looks like they are giving free money if they do this. Are you Elon Musk to do that? Lol.

No I don't think Elon Musk will do such thing, no rich personalities will ever do that if they are going to be generous they will do that to poor people not to people who can invest, people should use their mind and ask questions why these programs will double your money, when even Google or Facebook will not and cannot do.

Scams are everywhere offline or online, you know that it is if they tell you things that sound unbelievable, they do this because in the back of our minds we want easy and fast money just like a lottery jackpot, but if you think that a bank or any other big company can't give you a huge profit if you put your money on them why would a small company or even an individual do that, just moderate your greed and you will see the light.
Just like what we always say here, if it's too good to be true, it probably is. Many people know that but only few care to apply it in real life. They still choose bite the trap of scammers without even having second thoughts. They're so greedy that they forget to have some speculations first regarding the matter even if it's obvious that it's a potential scam.

Just glad your friend didn't become a victim. Good thing you were there to give him reminders and advises regarding such.

Is there a EUR doubler service somewhere? You give the doubler a €100 bill and within 24 hours you get €200 back. Does that seem plausible? Treat your crypto with bigger care than your traditional money, because it's much more rare, and you don't get a 2nd chance to redo your mistakes.
Exactly this. People don't have basic understanding of how crypto works, all they know are stories about some people getting rich. When you combine greed and lack of knowledge, you get perfect victim. What's even worse, experienced people are  not immune to that, just look at defi and how many people that lost money during 2017 are doing the same mistake now.

People get scammed in traditional ways all the time , but with crypto all this has been pushed to another level.

Perfect example, that certain combination always being held as victims of those many scammers around. It's very important to know
more about the investment that your going to invest your money before participating.
Op' needs to keep informing his friend that there are other things around this industry, certain promises of doubling you money is too good
to be true and will ends up as pure scam.

The fact that such sites exist is proof that there are plenty of people who believe that Bitcoin is created out of thin air. Scammers are taking advantage of their gullibility. Luckily your friend wasn't one of them. One of the first things I would tell people who are new to crypto is to apply the same logic you use with fiat.

Some people should try to investigate about a business or a website before investing anything on such websites, because of greed many people are scammed. I think of it that it is not possible for a website to double money in less than a day, this is not possible, it is just a scam. Some people are scammed because of greed, they do not want to be patient, they only believe in scam until they are scammed.

Due to the fact that recently the interest in cryptocurrencies among the population has begun to increase, and the level of knowledge does not always correspond to the required level, such frauds occur.
For example, the “action” of increasing your capital, which will end soon and you need to invest your funds as soon as possible, will cause suspicion among literate people. But those who hope only for good luck, without thinking and not having complete information about the project, will always be of interest.
For such people, scammers work. They spare no money for the promotion of projects that we call scams. As long as society is uneducated for all sorts of online fraud, scammers will come up with more and more fraudulent schemes.

You are talking as if scams don't happen in real world with cash. If there is something with value, people will try to get it, some by wrong means.

A usual newbie approach. Being easily blinded by that kind of offer.

Where's the problem? The scammers? The people? A scam is already considered as part of the scheme even before Bitcoin's inception. Even way back old days.

I don't take that lack of regulation as a reason for these scams. Even with regulation, this kind of trick was easily being pulled out, and unfortunately, not just newbies, but even experienced ones also fall on the trap.

The sad truth is, people who are already aware of this scheme are taking chances. I don't know the reason but there's a thing in their mind telling them to test that obvious scam thinking they will get an advantage in the early phase.

As for OP's friend, good thing they don't throw away money at what the program is telling them. Use our common sense as much as possible.

Such obvious scams still exist simply because there ate still people who believe bitcoin can magically make them rich overnight.
Thankfully you were there to warn your friend. However, there are many others who fall for such blatant scams each day because of lack of awareness.
Lack of regulations is also one of the main reasons why crypto-market is considered a fertile ground for scammers.

It's not about being crypto as crypto or not totally regulated but as long as there is money involved, there's a scam.

There's no 100% protection against scams as even a trustworthy site can show their true color but unless we will use our common sense, we will minimize being scam especially for an obvious offer that is too good to be true.

For that kind of doubling the money offer, I really don't think it's because they are a newbie why they become interested but clearly, these people (your friend, sorry) are aggressive to make money without doing nothing.

This is a good demonstration of how a lot of people don't view Bitcoin as money, they view it as some sort of magic bean that makes everyone rich. If you offer someone to double their cash or bank account, they would think it's a scam, but they don't have the same thinking when it comes to Bitcoin, because the field of Bitcoin is so new and different to them, that they are forgetting everything they owned with traditional money.

I would have blamed myself for telling my friends about bitcoin
Mind you, you should not blame yourself when people make the mistake of being greedy and get scammed, I've seen newbies asking if it's possible to protect others (not just themselves) on this network, and the answer is no, so even if you introduced them to the Bitcoin network, as long as you didn't tell them it's a money doubling scheme/network, then if they want to take the route to fast money, imo, the consequences should be on them and not on you.

A common saying goes, 'where there is sugar, ants gatheres'. It's not obvious to have scammers randomly theorize Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency as a field.
We've just got to stay the course and ensure accurate information sharing amongst forum users as we've obviously been doing and the cryptosphere would continue to be a safe place for all.

Even there is a regulation there are people who will find ways to scam others, We have laws but why there are still criminals?, I agree with molsewid it's not only about the scammers but also the lack of knowledge and the greediness and also out of desperation of the person, maybe the best prevention is having a knowledge and awareness because if there is an awareness there is also prevention of something that might happen to them.

Like what others have said, it's not about the regulation. You already said that it's so obvious yet scammers still do this kind of tricks because even if it's obvious, there are still people who fall for it just like your friend (but gladly he consulted with you first before doing anything). A lot of people really get attracted to the idea of easy money, especially newbies, and fall for it without knowing if it's real regardless if there's a regulation or not.
