Japan is all flashy and at the cutting edge of technology and entertainment so it makes sense that the Japanese are embracing bitcoin. it is the future and it is not so hard to understand that. Why would we use physical money when we trying to save on waste? For example, video games now are mostly downloaded so nothing physical, so why shouldn't money be the same and keep up with the rest of the technology.

Bitcoin trade in Japan is big, it accounts for almost half of the global trade volume. The country is now said to be the new heart of bitcoin since it recognized bitcoin as a legal form of currency. Most of the japanese are open-minded and knew the benefits that bitcoin may give once they accept it one of their aternative currency. Many merchants are now using bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in their business and one company is even planning to use bitcoin as a form of salary.

Mai Fujimoto, aka Miss Bitcoin on her social media platforms, figure-heads an attitude that seems to be crowing in the Land of the Rising Sun.

-Why the hype in Japan?
The attitude in places like China and even Korea is one of the people battling against the regulators. There is huge interest in these two nations from the citizens, but regulators have put their foot down.

-A good alternative
Bitcoin also comes at a great time for the investment-savvy Japanese as ultra-low interest rates from the deflation-battling central bank that has left investors scratching their heads for places to find returns on their cash.

Satoshi Nakamoto it is a japanese name right so maybe from the very start satoshi is backed up by japanese firm or government. So when the bitcoin start it has already a big market which is japan.
This is not the right reason, Satoshi I think is anonymous and not Japanese.
We never know who he is and may not have anything to do with the State of Japan.
Japan is a developed country, and he really values technology. it was amazing.

Since Japan is very "IN" with technology its not a surprise seeing Japan using bitcoin as currency, its actually a bright idea to use bitcoin as currency, and I can slowly see that bitcoin may be the future of currency. Japan has embraced technology and has used it for the better of their country and economy, they can process things faster, and now that they are using bitcoin its not a doubt Japan will be greater.

I think that because Japan is an industrialized nation and the Japanese people prefer  convenience and crypto  can do that. Simple and secure implementation is what most users need, which brings them to crypto, so does Japanese. And with the support of technology lives in Japan, crypto is becoming more powerful in Japan.

Aside from the fact that Satoshi Nakamoto sounds very much a Japanese name, Japanese people are more open to new innovations, new possibilities and new discoveries. Instead of rejecting something new, they try and understand the underlying usecase of bitcoin and its technology. And one advantage of that is, they are one step ahead with most countries that fear change, their people are widely adopted to bitcoin when other countries are debating whether to ban bitcoin or tax it.

As most of us here know, Japan currently is the leading country in tech and innovation (and weird TV game shows) so it's not surprising that they'd be open to accept an innovation with how people handles money, and that is bitcoin and crypto. Also, their government is very keen on finding ways to help their citizens in any way possible so as you observed, there isn't any strict regulations regarding crypto in Japan. Many of the Japs believe that bitcoin will be the future of payment and money, that's why most of them jumped ship without hesitations before everybody else could.
