No idea why they would predict that high of a price but those "professional predicters" are just a bunch of amateurs aswell
I THINK highest we will be seeing this year is going to be 700$ nothing more that's already difficult to rich imo.

Everytime the price starts to make some noticeable movements, all these predictions start coming out. Expectations are rising and more people are becoming interested and suddenly are buying again. The volume yesterday can be compared to that of two months ago when the price was recovering from a knee jerk reaction to the bitfinex hacking incident.
This is correct.all expert in speculation will come out and try to predict what will the outcome of the price of bitcoin but suddenly not all speculators are correct or hit the speculating price of the bitcoin.Bitcoin movement is just like sports example basketball.the more speculator say's that one team will win, people are so much interested to place bet on that team because it strong then suddenly in the end they loose.for me not always trust the speculation perhaps better study the movement of the bitcoin and then try to analyse what will be the next price

The fact is that people thought the bitcoin would go to a higher amount due to the halving that was incoming back in the days, at the end it never really did a lot for us with that price but that is the reason in the overall.

2 months are remaining and then 2017 will start so I dont think so that price of bitcoin will reach 1200$, because it is almost double amount that is going right now. I would say that the price will be in between 800$ to 900$ at the end of this year.

It's a matter of demand, as more people get into BTC the demand rises and that is simple economics, price goes up when something is wanted.

because more and more people are accepting bitcoin and are also investing their money here therefore it is expecting that the price of bitcoin is going to reach to 1200$ at the end of this year.

Bitcoin already reached the point over 1000$ per 1 BTC this summer. But the story with Bitfinex hacking crushed it's grow. Now the price is going up too slow, this days it seems the price even get frozen on the same level. I doubt that bitcoin will reach 1200$ this year. Next year maybe, but this year no for sure. I think the maximum that bitcoin can show in this few months that lefts till the new year is gonna be around 700$.

after a long bear market it only makes sense that at some point the bear market would end and we would go into bull mode again and that would easily put us above $1200
but that's not happening right now, not because there isn't enough potential, but because bitcoin is being limited right now.

Most probably because were hoping for a clean year. No big hacks like gox and the like. And also because the halving was coming. But since Bitfinex, we've been stuck in a stable 600.

The price range that was set so high was simply because of the fact everyone was thinking that the halving would let us go to a next level price.
The downside is that it never happened but I'm positive and I think it will happen soon or later.

yes that is a fact that prediction about bitcoin is too good, it is expecting that the price of bitcoin will easily cross 1200 USD at the end of this year 2016. i think the reason behind this is that more and more people are investing their assets in bitcoin therefore in future the demand of bitcoin will be more than supply that will increase the price of bitcoin.

One month later after OP posted this thread we are still in the same price range for Bitcoin. I may have made a mistake by saying that Bitcoin might end up at under $600 by the end of the year but it is more likely that we will end up in the same price range by the end of the year. To make a statement that is on the safe side, what might happen is Bitcoin might end up being still under $650 until the end of the year and it might be a little longer than that.
But here is the good news. This new found stability is what might attract more people to invest in Bitcoin. Most of the mainstream investors value stability more because they are looking for an investment vehicle to park their funds. That is why gold is an attractive investment for them.
