It might depend on the places and situation you are. There could be many things that are resulting in increased crime.
1. Overpopulation: This is manly a problem in poor, underdeveloped nations. Lack of education or a negative education results in this. The sources and land are limited but the people's fertility capacity aren't. When there's too many people, there's unemployment, hunger and crime.
2. Power struggle: Political divide, conflict of ideas and hunger for power in politician is affecting Every countries. Politics has the responsibility to hold people together but the political leaders specially in all of democracy are trying to create a divide on general population and hate for opposite party. Even on autocracies, there are fight for control.
3. Immigration: The overpopulation have led to the act of immigration to less populated and more developed areas mostly from the less developed and conflict zones. Initially many countries took this as a good way to get cheap labor as they suffered from labor shortage but now as they see the problem of third world coming to their homes, they are actively trying to restrict it.
Drugs, Guns, lawlessness are all the byproducts of a failing state and lack of drafting and implementation of state policies.

Their is a particular tribe in my country that gives birth to a lot of children believing that the higher numbers will make them wealthy, because when the child has grown up to 4,5 year old they will send them out for begging, then be expecting returns from that child. But now due to how inflation and lack of better jobs are high in the society now, people hardly give out like before, and those children since they didn't have a formal education when they have grown, they will now be a nuisance in the society and engage in crimes just for survival.

It is the believe of an illiterate that will make them feel that their source of wealth will come from the children they have given birth to. In a country where there is birth control, they can’t try that because they know they’ll be penalized for it. I know of this certain tribes you are talking about and it has become very alarming that the children engage in illegal acts just to fend for themselves out of home. The economy is very bad that even those that give out to them are now feeding from hand to mouth. I wish a drastic action can be taken against such parents. Asides that, high rate of unemployment, corruption and greed contributes to the rate of crime in the society. If crime is to solved, it requires collective efforts in order to achieve a crime free society today.

I think the problem is in human morality, changing too quickly makes adapting a big challenge because of the prejudices that exist in society. I agree that a few years ago in the country I live in, crime was only small forms of theft, or corruption,... but in recent years, when the economic situation has changed, more scary problems arise. Education becomes despised in some crowds when people assume that life only needs to meet material needs, and when that condition is easily achieved, misconceptions about the next generation arise. . But that doesn't mean it's all, because crime actually increases, and talented and ethical people also appear a lot. I think it's a balance and no matter what context we live in, we will see it its problems.

But any negative/positive story that exists from any angle reflects the activities of society and serves as lessons for us to choose from. I believe that the surrounding environment has a lot of influence on a person's behavior, but how they were born to begin with still belongs to the story of karma and it seems that modern society is turning a blind eye to it that, but there is no problem at all if the point of view is originally born to balance everything.

Drugs are one of the main culprits and so as the corrupt leaders who are not against distributing it to cause corruption in any community in the world. They don't really care about their communities and all they are just doing is making themselves rich in any shape or form whether it's illegal or not. I missed when the time we could still play outside until morning without anything to worry about because there were no criminals roaming around but right now if you do such things, you either find yourself at the police station, or at the hospital because you won't be left alone unharmed if those drug addicts caught you and if you get caught by a serial killer then consider it as if it's you hit the wall end of your life unless you are lucky enough to trick him.

Now People tend to give birth to children they can't Carter for, they will give birth to 8,9 children plus and they will be unable to give them a formal education, when they have grown up and they find it difficult to get a decent job, they will now be engaging in crimes of different types just to make a living.

I do not know if this is just prevalent in my country but I remember in the old times people used to have much more children but why is it now that crimes are increasing? I think it has to do with inflation and other economic issues in short, poverty has become so bad that people are now considering doing crimes just to survive the day, week or month

Some parents who can not care for their children tend to sell their children off and these children will be then used for other crimes

It is a sad reality we live in that we can not provide better lives for these children and in result our society decays slowly

Well when people can't afford to give their kids a good education or provide for them, it often leads to a cycle of crime. Some communities even believe having more kids means more wealth, but when these children grow up without proper education and job options, they turn to crime for survival. To break this cycle, it's important  we focus on better education, more job opportunities, and encouraging responsible family planning.

I think it is unavoidable to experience crime in any country or community. Crime never started just recently, it began from years back even worst happened hearing of the World wars and major terrorist attacks on people, crime is common to happen in a society. If their should be no crime then probably there will be no need for the police or detectives since everyone will be living in peace.

Individuals and government can play huge roles into making the country risk free from crimes by empowering the citizens, creating several opportunities and strict rules to guide the citizens without excluding anyone. Personally self employment can help, spending the whole day on your job won't give you the chance to stay and stage up a crime scene.

Before now people give birth to many children because the economy was good and they could take care of these children. Currently, this is not the case in my location because of the harsh economic conditions. Now family planning and birth control programs are now popular in my country. It is now common to see parents giving birth to just two children. I am surprised that the case is opposite in you country because there have been reduction in birth rate world wide. Some countries are even giving incentives to families to give birth to more children because the workforce is drastically depreciating.

Illiteracy is the major cause of the mentality that raising beggars is the survival pathway. The main problem is that the government is not living up to its expectations. Such parents should be arrested for child labor and persecuted. If these parents are sanctioned, it will serve as a deterrent to others. Parents should give birth to children they can be able to cater for because they are meant to take the responsibility of raising children which should be a blessing and not a curse to society.

Crime typically rises as people fall into hard economic times. While people with assets like homes and stocks might be celebrating valuations at all time highs, others that rent and don’t have passive income sources are finding life harder and harder to make it. As the layoffs grow, crime will in lockstep. Let us hope the Fed starts dropping rates sooner than later.

The problem is with the government that has not taken sincere step to improve the economy and jobs will be created when people have extra because they will initiate investment. So the bane of economic development is corruption.

Most government officials go in their to enrich their personal families and pockets. If you want to know that government is a family business and for cronies especially in Africa where an individual is "bigger" than the law, when you check the families of the officials when in power, then you will see how affluent the families will become because juicy contracts are thrown there, employment for the young people in the family and other persons who are not part of the family are neglected, that is the problem.

Therefore, if government becomes sincere in policy and politics, then crime rate will reduce because some descent people are now pressured into crime as they damn consequences to survive.

The reason why the crime is increasing in our society today, is because people have turned everything to become politics in our nation today because, something that deserve punishment for the offense he or she committed in the society but they will use the influence of the politicians to wave out the punishment.

I know there will definitely be crime daily in the society because lawyers and judges must have some cases in the court of law to look into because that is the hope of a common man and no matter how long the case maybe long there will surely be justice at the end.

Crime will never disappear from the world. Crime seems to be becoming a part of society. Just looking at the news page, we see the crime incidents before our eyes. I think population growth alone is not the direct cause of crime as the OP says. There are many factors that contribute to crime rates, including poverty, inequality, lack of education and opportunities, and social norms. Crime rates are influenced by a variety of factors, including socioeconomic status, access to education and employment, social support systems, and community resources. In order to tackle crime effectively, it is crucial to consider and tackle underlying root causes such as poverty, inequality, lack of opportunity and social exclusion, rather than focusing solely on population growth and family size.

Economical problems, Lack of jobs, even social discrimination, you name it. There are a lot of reasons about someone to engage in crime as a way to sustain themselves, it is something which happens in all countries, not matter where you live, in a first world country or in a developing one.

To be honest, I believe it would better for people not to have children if they know they cannot provide them with food, education and shelter, but unfortunately uin developing countries sometimes having several children is perceived as a way to keep the family going. Anyways, I am not an expert at this, it would be better to ask a sociologist or someone who is expert at this kind of phenomenon for us to understand it better.

Also, that case you talk about a local tribe in your locality is quite disturbing, it is something I would have expected the government to intervene in somehow...it sounds like criminal neglect.

Your idea sound nice but I don't think increase in population can increase corruption in our society, the major factor that keeps promoting corruption is peer pressure and ignorance, just like I have always said ignorance is a disease that needs to be dealt with in our society. The rate of corruption keeps increasing not just because of population or peer pressure, people just refuse to grow mentally like their mindset and behavior and when it comes to rural area where there's lack of attention cause in areas like this the government has refuse to take in charge and people will always make their choice regardless of the law.
Just like the example you set using population and child bearing, if those areas can be educated monthly on family planning I think the act will stop, those people really need help and without the education the population will continue to increase and gradually all those kids will grow up as beggers cause when there's no proper education or foundation there's no hope.

I can still recall the good old days when crime was not a daily routine, but look at our society today, crime's of different types, but today I will be emphasizing on one particular issue in our society why crime rate are on the rise, which to me is really really bad.
I think one of the things that makes crime to be on the rise now is society pressure,  everybody one to meet up by all means which they do not have the patience to wait and work to achieve success at the right time. I think the world is going into what people see crime as a normal lifestyle which can generate money for them.  People don't want to work anymore to gain legitimate money instead they want to get money so very fast through crime.

It is not very common to have 8 kids in 2023 and to my knowledge, it all happened in the good old days you are talking about which is a couple of generations earlier. And if there is a particular tribe doing doesn't mean that is the same everywhere.

And I want to tell you that crime exists every time and probably you feel it is rising because it comes to our knowledge no matter where it happens but in the good old days, you are talking when there is no internet, no sharing of news by people so we only see what media want us to see.

This is happening due to legalisation of corruption in the land, in those days when government was still sincere about is people by providing them with their needs, they became obedient to they law, for instance if a father provide all his responsible to the family needs, you can see that he will be recognised as the final say of the house and no one will ever opposed his decision, like wise government too. Crime are just everywhere now because government have failed to deliver their promises, and decided to forget about their citizens, and also decided to legalised corruption indirectly, no more employments, and even those that are employ are not treated well, that's why why crimes has full everywhere. For government to deal with this, they have to be sincere to the law by following what the law say and act on it.

Crime may seem more prevalent now than ever for lots of reasons. Socioeconomic disparities, unemployment & lack of opportunities may drive some people towards crime. Changes in societal values & norms as well as the breakdown of traditional community structures can contribute to the perception of increased crime. Crime rates can fluctuate over time & factors things like improved crime reporting & policing methods can also influence the perception of crime prevalence.
