A very quick method...

Some things, consider that if you make a capture with your cell phone these photos usually exceed 3mb or even more depending on your cell phone and how they have it configured 1MB- 3MB - 8Mb etc depends on the brand.

I do not know the app, I do not use that APP on my phone for reasons that are not relevant now. I only use imgur on my laptop. As for the desktop version, such a thing does not exist as such today, there is a mobile web, the classic m.page that usually works the same as the App, sometimes the difference is imperceptible, but today everyone wants an App.  Smiley

In fact, the m.imgur.com (web mobile) version is only for viewing, they don't feel like enabling the upload, they force you to use their APP (nothing new happens with other famous apps)

Anyway, so if you don't want to use that App or any other on your cell phone, surely you have Twitter, well this social network serves to host images:

Step 0: upload the photo to your twitter app.

Step 1:
Touch on the photo and "copy image address"

Step 2:
You get this:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1D8RMBVIAITtou?format=jpg&name=small

See the "?"
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1D8RMBVIAITtou.jpg

change to .jpg and you're done...link.

Want to view use code:
Code:
[img]link[/img]

Code:
[img]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1D8RMBVIAITtou.jpg[/img]

If the image is very large, so use:

Code:
[img height=100]link[/img]

Code:
[img height=100]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1D8RMBVIAITtou.jpg[/img]

There are many ways to host (upload) a photo but not all of them are allowed in the forum, so the recommendation is to use imgur, generally the one most frequently used.

Do not forget to point out the source of the photo/pic.
Source:  I make the reference here, but it must always go below the image.

I tried to use imgur's mobile app but it was a very bad experience. I tried a lot but couldn't upload the picture, I was forced to uninstall the app because it doesn't make sense to have an app installed on my mobile with such a bad experience.

Try this (quickimgur): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superyao.tuchuang

Often third party apps tends to be better than official ones.

Thanks for answer, but I have dumb question - how to access desktop site version on mobile? I tried it, but failed to find way to access it. Seems that after all these years I will have to look for alternative...

If I understand correctly, you are looking to switch the mobile version of sites to the desktop version.
There are several options. And it all depends on the browser you are using. In the Opera browser, there is a function to switch to the desktop version in the settings. Also, watch the video for Edge Browser and Google Chrome

Just tryout other alternative image hosting sites like the ones listed by @lovesmayfamilis. Imgur on mobile sucks big time. The reason I still use imgur is because I mostly use computer and my screenshot app uploads the captured images automatically to imgur and then sends me the link of the uploaded image to my clipboard.

I don't want to make new topic, so I just ask here. Is it not possible to upload images on Imgur using mobile option, because for some time I'm getting error on their upload page and suggestion to download their app.
If it's not possible anymore, maybe someone can suggest simple and easy to use alternative for mobile which would give bbcode sharing link after uploading image.
EDIT. Haven't saw @lovesmayfamilis post with links above, will check it out.
Yeah they have updated that feature since last year I guess, you can try to do desktop mode in mobile browser and it will work again. If you want some alternative imgbb is good option.

Just make sure the image isn't too big. We often see oversized images for no reason. Imgur can resize your images with a click of a button. After you upload it, click on your image, and at the bottom of the window that pops up, you can select the size. In my experience, the "Medium Thumbnail" and "Large Thumbnail" images are usually sufficient.

can you write me the code for post an image, please?

Simple answer, just put the image url inside the [img] tags. For example:
Code:
 [ img]http://path/to/your/image.jpg[ /img]
(remove blanks in front of 'img' and '/img')

you can just upload an image on imgur and copy/paste the bbcode in order to post the image here in the forum. kindly follow the instruction on the thread I shared. [Guide] How to Add image on Bitcoin Talk Post?. there are other ways of posting an image here but for me, this is the easiest way to do.

I think this website is a good option https://imgbb.com/ I started using their service after the bad experience of imgur's, so far everything seems fine to me.

Why everyone is using imgur? Just because it has the BBcode ready link to copy it? I fo like thus as im lazy to edit tags but I hate their mobile app, something happened some time ago and I'm unable to upload images from mobile, just freezes. Reinstall, tried on another phone, same thing.
On the others hand the if ypu mske a gif file it changes it to .gifv and there are always issues with them in thr forum.

If it may still be relevant, then I also used the third-party Light shot extension (screenshot tool). But I saved the pictures to my computer, and after that, I already used the service https://imgbb.com. It has the same links to images for posting on the forum, but with HTTPS

Here are some alternative free picture hosting sites that don't require registration. And also there is a link BBcode. Smiley

The better question would be.. why does anybody use HTTP?
There is literally not a single reason to prefer HTTP over HTTPS. And there also wasn't a reason for this 3 years ago..
That fact is that it was the third party screenshot app that I was using back at that time that was automatically uploading the images to imgur and then I would just have the HTTP link of the image available on my clipboard in a few seconds after it got uploaded.

So having HTTPS Everywhere extension installed in the browser wouldn't do anything as the app did not use the browser to upload the images

If you were browsing http sites 1 year ago, i highly recommend you to install HTTPS Everywhere. That's a browser extension which automatically uses HTTPS whenever possible.
Even though there are only very few sites left, which do not have HSTS enabled, it will generally help you and warn you if there is no HTTPS available.

out of the subject:

I hope the community provide alternative links for images instead of imgur like imgbb.com
Because there is difficulty in some countries/ISP like me.

https://imgbb.com/

This service works great. All images from two years ago are displayed very correctly. I have been using only his services for a long time, and have no problems. The service supports many languages, including Arabic. Or are you using this service otherwise?

AFAIK because Bitcointalk redirects the image through their own proxy you should not have any problem onsite with images because they will appear to be served by Bitcointalk and not Imgur etc.

Imgur has "Upgrade-Insecure-Requests: 1" on their request headers. They are basically forcing HTTPS for everyone. You should just update your links to use https.

https://bit.ly/387FXHi lightning theory
It's probably imgur that's the problem. Theymos might want to add some code that tries to get both if it's provided as http.

Like title says I am just curious and would like to know why the bitcointalk.org image proxy is now showing the Invalid Image error on all image links from imgur that use http

In some posts i made over a year ago Like this one. The images were showing perfectly back then but they now show the Invalid Image error

The only thing i have to do is now go back and edit each and every image link I posted back then and replace http with https for the images to show again which will take time. Why doesn't the forum just accept images that use Http so long as the link is valid?
