I do not understand what you mean illuminati, I thought it would be cool if you explain a little bit about it, it may seem that word is not foreign to my ears Smiley

Two specific sites I'm talking about, luckyflop.eu and bitspoker.com, I could be wrong but I thought they had enough players to stay afloat. Luckyflop had freerolls every hour, maybe they just couldn't afford it anymore, but bitspoker always had 15-30 players playing cash games, barely any freerolls.

SWC only has 10-30 players and they seem to be doing good still, and they had many legal expenses.

According to this https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/luckyflopeu-daily-free-roll-hourly-1mbc-freeroll-50mbc-tourneys-daily-961298 luckyflop closed door without any notification at all, and for bitspoker.com i have found some scam accusations. If you like to play poker feel free to check my signature and play on well known site Wink

I think ultimately the reason is because nobody wants to play Poker online because they don't know if the opponent is cheating in anyway. I know that each hand is unique and its not unlike the real casinos but Poker is generally a game that's best played in a physical casino.

Also the sites you mentioned I think they simply closed down to a lack or funds. They probably didn't have the right campaign for promotion and due to lack of user interest they closed down. They couldn't make too much money because they also had to keep the house edge low and decided it was too much work keeping it running.

I also find some old poker site has been closed, but I can say its not related to Trump at all. Usually the only reasons why the casino owner decides to close his casino are:
  • only popular because of many promotion, and many people abusing it
  • there is no big whale
  • too much promotions, but it doesnt give impact for new gambler amount and income
  • bad management

Bad management is actually the main reason behind the closure of many poker websites. You have to maintain a balance between what people want and at the same time to keep making profit. Undecided

It's not just that, there are quite a lot more reasons why most of these online poker sites all go down. Mainly there are only a few that patronize online poker rooms probably because it's quite hard to play and slow unlike if you play on other casino games. Also, it's not as amusing to play in online poker games than real poker games.

I think so too. Every time I join poker rooms in online casinos it is mostly empty. Most of it is empty. The ones that are filled are the free ones that give away money for winning the whole tournament. It's mostly hourly tournaments where the pot is just a few mbtc. Which is sad to say is boring. The ones that really have a buy is all empty.

What sites are you mentioned about? May be if you can tell us which site, some of us know the answer though but without you telling us the exact site then we dont know anything about it though. But if you said that most of them are close, i can tell you this. Not all people are really attract on poker games, because it really takes time. Although the prize is really good but people enjoy on something fast like dice game or even some slots which have fast cash and fast payout too

We can't really answer you because you didn't tell us what sites are you talking about? There can be several reasons why they are closed, to big competition, maybe someone hack them and steal funds, maybe they run away with money, who knows? I don't see connection between Trump and that.

What were the old site you using ? I too not find any hard time for poker sites both in trend among gamblers and regulations wise. Things are as it is unless your particular site had any specific problem with their business.

Maybe you should be more specific. Like which sites are closed and which site did you previously played on. I guess this is because most poker gambling sites don't really get that much patrons into the site. Most people don't like gambling on poker online unlike in real life. There are a lot of aspects missing in online poker than in real life poker, like bluffing. You can't bluff as effective in online poker.

Most bitcoin users aren't interested in poker, it's not a very popular game in the bitcoin gambling world.

However, have you looked at https://swcpoker.eu/? It's a bitcoin poker site that you might want to check out. It's well known, but you'll have to download their client.

they are closing because of too many cheaters
you can't play a freeroll without several accounts belonging to same player or his "friend"
but the main reason would probably be the competition, only the largest ones survive, rest are simply not profitable
and are shutting down

These sites suffer because they don't have enough users playing in their site less players means less money for them. Maybe the owner lost interest on continuing the site that's why they close. Also there's more games to play here than poker.

Let us know the names of these 2 poker sites and there is more than likely a reasonable explanation for why they closed.
Yes, OP is missing out to state the examples, moreover I do not find any famous poker sites were closing their services.

Yet, now a days commonly most gamblers prefer lazy and quick games, that might be a prime reason why dice sites are surging up and other logical sites are going down. Probably sports betting are exception here as they are mostly easy and profitable for any gambler.

most of the times whenever a site like these that are running a business close down, is because they couldn't make their business profitable and they were losing money. and the reason for that is mostly because the owners are not experienced enough to do it.

in case of a poker site my guess is that people are not so interested in playing poker "online" because it can easily be cheated and it is no fun playing it online compared to face to face poker.

Wondering the same thing, but I think it is because there is only few bitcoin poker players compared to fiat poker players. What I see, fiat poker sites has more active players than bitcoin poker sites. Seems that it is hard to attract fiat players to move to bitcoin sites. Maybe they are comfortable already with their fiat sites and hard for them to move to somewhere else.
