Has he been banned?
No, the moderators gave him another chance. But in his case, I think he will be careful now. Since he must understand that he will not be given a second chance to stay on the forum. He should also remember that after such indulgence, the requirements for his posts are greatly increased, that is, they will all be checked.

While you are still here...

I love your ability to detect alts and cheaters. Has he been banned? At least yesterday he was not yet. When I read this post I smelled fishy: a newbie opening a thread to explain to other newbies how to behave well in the forum.  At the same time he was flattering the higher-ranked members to see if he could get some merit. And then some people tell me that by opening threads you are not more likely to get merits. This is what many of these newbies seem to think and I see that at least occasionally it works for them.

Going to the OP's question, I disagree. They are not plagiarism mistakes, they know what they are doing is wrong and they do it nonetheless..

Why do newcomers often make plagiarism mistakes?

Because the society we're coming from has failed and the world is corrupt basically before any other reason. Nowadays, humanity don't want to work before earning, they're always looking for the shortest way possible which most times involves cheating to get there. This is the mindset of the typical human and how the real world operate so they bring that same mentality into the forum.

Ethically, you shouldn't need any rules to tell you is not ok coping someone else works without giving credit then passing it as yours, taking all the glory and reward for that content be it an article or graphic.

The society has normalize stealing and other immoral things like promoting scams surfer you're not been affected. We're now cool with influencers promoting projects that are shady like most of the hyped meme and Bitcoin clones which were only created to steal your bitcoin.

I think he meant that people plagiarize because they cannot write posts properly nor can't understand any other language except their native language.

@Delightcrypto1
I recommend you stick posting to your local board first.

Newcomers in Bitcoin forums, (especially users who have just registered), are often reported for plagiarism. There are several reasons.

~snip~
If they register in a forum or group they should understand that there are obligations they have to carry out. Like in this forum, in each sub-topic there are already many pinned topics and that is the first thing they must steel. If this they do I think Banned it will never happen. In the end it is the willingness of newcomers to learn to obey the rules that have been drawn up in consideration of the progress of a forum. It is proven by the existence of this rule. This forum has grown to be of good quality.

There are numerous reasons to plagiarism.
1. When a newbies is in a hurry to boost up his or her rank
2. When the newbies registered to the forum and fail to study the forum rules before using the forum.
3. Lastly when the best is not a good reader or post composer.
What do you mean about the third reason?. I really don't get what you mean about it but about the first and second is that newbies should avoid doing these kind of goal. Why would you hurry to get rank?. It is useless unless you are posting decently without plagiarising someone's work and make it as your own. Avoid these type of behaviour or decision.

How about those that are very much aware of the rules as it concerns plagiarism and spamming but still goes ahead to commit these crimes? What do we say is the reason behind this because, I can only think of 2.

1. Lack of information or the inability to organise there thoughts into a body of information/constructive post and

2. They are not so sure the forum would detect the crime being committed and most of all, have some hard evidence on the crime.

Unfortunately for them, that isn't the case as the forum often detects and has no time to compromise or lay down the rules with excuses of ignorance. Its not acceptable on the forum and that's period. Its overwhelming to read a bulky post but, you've got to try when it's of interest and important.

Well, just recently there was a "promising" Jr Member. He was willing to spend the effort to sign a message, not bad.

Like one day after helping him to rank up to Member, he was dumb enough to post a bunch of English - Chinese crypto terms without citing a source. Then he got banned.

A lot of people can post copy-pasted content on other forums and communities and it wouldn't matter that much.
They can but to be honest I have never seen them do it since there is no "incentive" like there may be on this forum. In fact most people are too lazy to copy a lot of text, they prefer to copy the link instead and post that, which is what I've seen them do instead on other forums.
This is why I disagree with OP's title, people don't plagiarize by mistake, it is always intentional.

You got caught, OP.
Check lovesmayfamilis' reply. From that I do not think you even have the place to even say that kind of stuff, if you by yourself did it anyway.

It is either these people just throw bunch random stuffs to boost post count and activity or plagiarize in attempt to earn merits anyway.

I don't think that ignorance of rules or lack of knowledge is main reasons of plagirarism. Some people just think that's OK to copy someone's text and post it as own. Even at school, I remember when we had to make slides presentation on Power point, we simply copied articles from Wiki instead writing in own words. Though, at least we added link to source of text.
Other people doing it intentionally with expecation that nobody will catch them.
If newbies don't have knowledge in specific topic, they shouldn't post at all instead of just posting copied text.

I believe there are two kind of users.  The users who just want to share some possibly interesting information on the forum for others to read and the users who are doing this in a hurried attempt to claim merits and move up to the next ranks.

There are probably only a few out there who actually look for and read the rules before posting.  For most of the new, rules are skipped as quickly as most of us skip Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policies.  Just check that square and you are good to go, why bother reading a boring wall of text, right?

I however tend to believe that there are way more users who plagiarize in an attempt to claim a lot of merits than users who legitimately want to share interesting stories around.  May be wrong but this is a gut feeling of my own.  If you decide to copy-paste some interesting piece of information, just include the author's name if you do not want to make it appear as if it was written by yourself.

After your frank confession, I begin to think about your adequacy. Are you asking us why you are not able to write yourself, and you have to copy someone else's? Huh Huh
While you are still here, tell us what happened to you at the moment when you brazenly copied posts from Reddit?
I'm just trying to understand the psychology of those who copy not only articles from the Internet, but stupidly other people's thoughts.
What I think about this is that most newbies do not know their plagiarized post will easily be noticed, they think they can plagiarize or copy some information from another site in a way nobody can know, but when they do it finish, this will be known, resulting to their permanent ban. What is wrong is wrong, people should not be told they should not plagiarized.

Some newbie think that they can avoid and can able to do lazy  works just to increase their post count doing that, they didn't know that there are so many members are watching and always report what they see wrong especially  those plagiarize  contents. And If I am a newbie I will not do any of it that can violate the forum rules since its really depressing to get ban and all your efforts will put into waste so better stop the though of trying to do this since right now there are so many guys here hunts and report those forbidden act on this forum.

Beginners often make plagiarism especially if they do not read the rules and regulations of this forum, this is the thing for every beginner in any forum, they are trying to create good posts so they tried to plagiarize things without knowing that they can get banned from the forum. Most of the beginners dont have yet the knowledge about cryptocurrency but they are eager to gain merits so they end up doing plagiarism.
I think its all about the -Newbies- I can into the forum and I think it didn't take some time to read the rules, but the -Newbies- most time that plagiarize come into the forum from bounty ads or a friend recommendation about the ads to them, so we know they focus on alt-coins discussion especially the bounty department of the board, and they aren't exposed to the rules in there.
Again they used to quick impression, than they can work for it, I can recognize in the forum rules that the basic rules are one that isn't unexpected from a forum like this, plagiarism is content robbery and I don't need the forum rules to know that.

At this time, it is often very difficult to appeal.

LOL. You are right, I will follow every step. And I may suspect to you that the account that was banned is your alternate account. Too many coincidences, isn't there?
You create the topic of the uselessness of the appeal of the account registered with you on the same day.

Keep in mind that there is also rule 25.

25. Ban evasion (using or creating accounts while one of your accounts is banned) is not allowed.[e]

If you want to be a member of the forum, you should not come here to deceive anyone.
There are no barriers for beginners who are sincerely interested in bitcoin, but filling the forum with spam and plagiarism is a violation here.

You are right. It is indeed my backup account. I don't want to make the same mistakes, and I don't want others to be bothered by the same mistakes. I am a typical negative textbook. At this moment I feel very embarrassed, but I think it is a bit worthwhile, can the most expensive legendary member give another chance. sincere! ! ! Thank you for always following me.

It's not due to the rules of the forum, or newbies being uniformed about those rules, it's that some beople don't have the basic knowledge on how reporting and communicating ideas worked. If people wrote a scientific paper at school they would know and automatically administer that to communication on the internet. It's basically just the lack of common logic when comunicating.

My thoughts. Not reading the rules aside, it's mostly because of one or a few things:

1. They don't think it's a big deal. A lot of people can post copy-pasted content on other forums and communities and it wouldn't matter that much. (not saying that it's fine, because it's definitely not)

2. They didn't think they would get caught. Like, I honestly think we're only one of a few non-professional communities/forums that are strict with plagiarism lol (which is a good thing). Unfortunately a lot are just focused on getting merits and ranking up the easy way.

3. Just laziness

When you make a post that the content does not reflect your opinion then you are committing plagiarism, so to avoid that every newbie needs to enhance their knowledge and make sure all the content on this forum represents the opinion and well referenced.
