I think that the only reason for this is their mindset. They are not used to the modern investment assets such as stock market, cryptos etc and they don't know much about them so they don't feel it save to invest their money in these assets. On the other hand gold and silver are being used by people since ancient times so these people have a lot of trust on them and find them more safer for their investments.

I'm not one who would invest in precious metals, but I have noticed that a good amount of the older generations are pretty keen in investing in these metals. They see it as a way to bet against the market, and a security that will always be safe -- even in the times of a market downturn/country failure as a whole.

I personally wouldn't even want to buy these metals in those events, as I don't see the reason to. I'd rather invest in securities that go up when the market shits itself (Payroll lending companies and so on and so forth)

Does anyone here know the reason behind people loving precious metals?

Older people did not know anything about how cryptocurrency works and because of that, they tend to choose the older idea of investing into gold or silver just like the old days before.

Not really an expert in this section, but my thoughts are - gold and silver has been with us for many years, therefore these metals are more trusted among the investors.
Also the price of gold and silver doesn't have that big volatility as crypto for example, thats another plus for precious metals.
One thing what makes me not invest in those metals is - quantity, as nobody really knows how much gold or silver are left in the world.

I think people who like to invest with precious metals, one of the right reasons is they avoid the risks that exist. they may have confidence that investing with cryptocurrency is very risky. they prefer and choose to earn a little profit and wait a long time, but the risk of precious metals drop is very minimal, and almost never goes down. maybe they also choose precious metals, because they do not understand about investing cryptocurrency that can generate a lot of profit. it could be that they parents, if for example have been able to enjoy the benefits of cryptocurrency, they will divert some of their treasures or precious metals to be invested into cryptocurrency.

People of the older generation will always choose precious metals. They have measurable value for them. They can feel something in their hands that is valuable and gives them a sense of security. They differ from people brought up in times where digital technology dominates and cryptocurrencies become normality.

I think it's sort of like cultural thing. Influence of a time that we're not familiar with. For example, why do people in their late 30s early 40s like the original NES, or cartoons from the 80s? Because they were there at that time and it had an influence on them.

You were right to say that you would invest in securities that are growing. For the adult generation, it is important to save money rather than multiply and risk it. This is not the money you need to risk to earn. It is important for them to keep.

old people since most of them are not computer literate. These old people's generation is far more different than us where we see cryptocurrency as an effective way of investment.so their generation is use to the gold and silver as been the real valuable asset of security.
Investing in gold and silver has nothing to do with age or with being computer literate it has to do with investing in one of the few things that after thousands of years still has value, if you were put in a time machine and were sent to the past your dollars and your smartphone will have no value but gold and silver will still buy you clothes and food and the same is going to be true if you were sent back to the future.

Old people like to invest in gold, silver over Bitcoin because it's safer. Bitcoins require them to be patient and wait for an unspecified time. Bitcoin shows that it is still improving and looking for stability to become more common today. Gold, silver is the safest and more affordable option.

I think they see these as the real asset that do not depreciate with time, so they feel more secure about it. And their generation is use to the gold and silver as been the real valuable asset of security.
Bitcoin as a replace of Gold? I think its just a big mistake. Gold and crypto are two different things, they share some similarities, but there some fundamental differences, those differences make a gold a less risky, and more stable asset. and it is tested for how many centuries. That is why older people prefer to choose GOLD/SILVER.

The older people are pattern from the olden generations of the familyin which ,those older persons would love to invest in gold and silver, their ancestors are also investing on gold because as they always see the gold physically they can lend it down to their heirs and continue to keep ot as precious assets.

I think because those metal can be on the other hand of your family and it contains by more valuable than you'd buy it.  Those metal was too hard to find now and there are a limited supply or we think that it has low supply when the time comes.  I also want to buy those metal because you can use it and also those metal has some advantage on your family or on your next generation because money was the powerful thing in this world.
Gold, silver is the preferred option for older people than Bitcoin because it is always a safe choice in all economic transformations. Bitcoin is still on the path to seeking widespread recognition and gaining popularity as a banknote in global trading. The future is still quite open with Bitcoin, but the choice of older people is very reasonable.

For older people they consider that Gold and Silver are a profitable investment in their time, which is useful for short or long term. And I think it still happens today, only with the presence of crpytocurrency as a new currency is not much known so that older people are more comfortable with gold and silver to make some money.

Old people choose to invest in gold, silver instead of Bitcoin because gold or silver is always a safer option than Bitcoin. Bitcoin has not yet come into full swing and is sure to be a sensible choice for older people. This decision of them though hard to perfection but in my opinion it is very reasonable.

Investments in gold and silver is very secured and you will not gain loss in your investment because its value never gets lower. Unlike in bitcoin your income will be an net loss or net income because bitcoin value is so very volatile. Investment in gold and silver is very secured in long period of time.
