Honestly people does not need to play gambling games. People can live without it but since forms of entertainment had been discovered and established, business person saw that gambling games gives motivation to people to play it. Hence, business wise, owner make it attractive to people by having a stake and a price and people saw it as form of entertainment and put their money on it. It is actually a good means of entertainment just make sure we don't get hooked and addicted to the game.
We don't really need it, maybe we find something on it that makes us want it to play all over, the thrilled, fun and excitement on what will be the outcome of our games as well the winnings we hope to earn attracts us to keep on playing.

In my own point of view, people do not actually need to gamble it is depend to the person if he/she needs to play. Gambling is actually for entertainment and a little earn of money but you do not actually get rich with it, only the dealers and the owners of a casino are the ones who get rich in gambling. Sometimes people always think that they can get a big profit when they win in the gambling and there are also people who are enjoying gambling that's why they've become addicted to it. Those people who are addict with gambling can never think if they win or lose as long as they enjoyed every moment of their life through gambling.
We need to gamble because stocks/bonds don't pay enough. Because of the inflation of the USD. Luckily, if you gamble in BTC, you can be bad at betting and still make 50% ROI/year! 
This is the reasoning of a gambler that mainly focus with earning through gambling. And most of us are looking for the daily profit that they can make but doesn't conclude monthly or yearly return / profit. We need to gamble base on our needs of our itchy hands to gamble and if there's a need of doing it so we already know the risk that we are in with it.

It is true for me as a freelancer. After I got paid for work, I usually gamble with my money just for fun, and, I want to multiply it, or even wasting my time. If I lose my money, I really do not upset about my loss and just leave it away. Work -> Gamble -> Repeat. That's my motto. My conclusion is, We need to gamble for having fun or multiply money, depends on your need, I agree with this guy. It depends on you what do you want. for me, I need to gambling for fun if I do not have a work.
If you think that you shouldn't be a gamble then left it. It is not necessary that we do gambling. Most of the reasons are here, if gambling not suit you then don't need it and if you have no enough money then left it. Some people after disappointment from finding day job they start gambling, while some people consider gambling as the short way of earning money and some people play gambling only for fun and enjoyment. My personal view is that we should not play gambling to fulfill our needs, but we should play gambling only for fun and for testing our luck, because gambling totally depend on our luck. A basic thing for all gamblers are same that is to earn more money quickly and easily but it is not possible for all gamblers so gambling is not easy to earn money.
We can never be sure of the luck that you will receive, knowing that you could try to make a ritual or something. Maybe they are the ones who are lucky because it's the first time or something. You would never know how you could be so sure with things in your life but that could be something that could change your life if you treat it in a different way.
But how would you explain that every time that my cousins will play color/number game, they always win something, even a small thing they can get. I don't know why they are doing it, and I don't know if ritual is true, but maybe they are truly gifted in terms on that game. LOL. It is simple to guess that your cousins are lucky ones in this game. Or may be they are expert in this game. Actually every gambler is usually expert in one game, whenever he play it usually he has a lot of chances to win in own game. LOL. What is fun on gambling if you are loosing money? $1 or $100, There's no difference. Its still money that you have work and you just lose it on money. That's why I don't understand people saying that they are just gambling for fun. If you will just compute how much money you loss in you gambling because of this so called "fun", I'm sure you will be amaze on how much money you have lost already.
For me I gamble to win. Simple as that. If I don't won that day, then I simple go home and take the lost. No need to complicate your situation and chase your losses. You can try your luck again tomorrow. No fun in losing. LOL.
