When I gamble I never think of the negative things, I'm just doing it to have fun, not that I'm bored as I can do lots of things to kill that boredom, it's just that gambling gives a different kind of excitement, it's a feeling that every gambler are looking and they are satisfied on it.
Sometimes I can also be greedy when it comes to winning, I admin that gambling ain't fun if you don't win on it, it's a challenge that every gambler are looking for strategy to win and since there's only a small rate of success, that's why we are challenge more.

Sometimes I meet a confusion when saying gambling is a place for entertainment, releasing fatigue and things that are not related to making gambling a place to make money. But sometimes I also feel that gambling is a place that can be used as a source of income because I have experienced myself how to get bets every day. This is what underlies I keep play gambling to become a habit. These two factors kept me from the gambling area, so the balance between being used as entertainment and being used as a place for source income made me a person who could be said to be an addict.
I do not like to gamble, never been to a casino.. but sometimes in life you just have to take that risk right ? 
Life is always risk, whether you invest, gamble or not so i think we are already used to take risk. I do gamble to earn money and enjoy, this is the primary reason of every gambler and we know even if we want to be entertain money should be the best reason especially in gambling. 
Gambling is not my habit but when I play gambling, sometimes only for fun but on another chance to get potential profits. Both the purposes are possible for me and I think not only me, but other people also may think the same as me. Anyway, regarding a big jackpot, I assume to not really hope for that thing to solve debt problems. A chance to win big jackpots is not quite high, so just fix the debt problems from another fund source.
Believe me or not I play gamble for just having or if I am bored and stress to my job, but of course I am not addicted I play gamble moderate with have discipline and selfcontrol. As gambler I am not stupid if tell I'm not interested to get win huge.

I usually gamble for fun when my friends ask to join them. I also went to release stress sometimes or to kill time like waiting for someone within the area. It's mainly because of money. I play because I want a bigger profit. Gambling answer all my needs since I entered crypto although I lose most of the time. Now aiming to buy a car with atleast 0.1btc profit every month from gambling and I'm done for this month and hopefully I can make it again next month.
Once I got into gambling when I feel lonely, and later things changed and I started to spend whenever I have little extra funds to spare. Later I understood the risk of losing, but this always tempts me to spend. Focusing to earn something out of it used to spend time and funds into gambling, even after experiencing massive loss there is some hope that I can get a win. I don't know whether it is true hope or something that's interesting me to gamble.
In my case, I gamble for fun. I consider myself as small-time roller only. I don't go overboard and use only my extra cash. I am not chasing the winnings but rather enjoyment of what I am playing. If I win, then I consider myself lucky. But will not aim to get rich via gambling route.
Long story short: For money and fun. It is fun to watch a different football championship series and win some money. Sometimes we win sometimes we lose but I never get caught to things like addiction, applying a different money management methods like martingale strategy and more.

To be honest, you have already answered the question on your first point. People gamble to make profit. That is it. No matter what other bullshit the people say, their main goal when gambling is to make PROFIT. People who gamble for fun won't be using real money. There are lots of casino out there that provides virtual valueless money that you can play with for fun. They would have chosen that. Can't simply say as for fun,like having intention of winning huge amount from it but not trying for it too hard make me save from huge losses.
I know people who got addicted so which helped me how to react to the consequences.
Because gambling has become part of my hobby, but I don't do it everytime. I do gambling whenever I have extra money. Gambling on a limited time and money just to try my luck to feed my curiosity. I will stop whenever I lose my initial capital or when I reach my target. Doubling my initial balance will be enough as my target for the current condition.
I do gamble occasionally but I can see many people do gambling everyday. If you want to reduce the greediness and stop losing your money we can stay away from gambling or do occasionally.

Never ever in my life on hoping to these things.Gamble just for fun and winning jackpots is just a bonus.
to get a jackpot or big profit, the most important thing is that you are not affected to pursue it and are sad because of it!

Before I gamble because i’m desperate to earn money, hoping that I will hit the jackpot one day and it will solve all my problems and pay my debts but as I play longer I lost most of the time but still continue thinking I will get the jackpot until I hit rock bottom, that’s when I realized gambling isn’t the solution to my problems so I tried really hard to forget gambling and look for other ways to earn money.
