I think that will show in the mid term elections. They certainly approve of what he is doing, The guy is basically fulfilling all his campaign promises. The same promises that got him elected.

They still see him as "daddy" and believe he is going to deliver his populist dreams when realistically he is delivering GOP's corporately sponsored dreams. People here rhetoric and ignore actions in American politics; whatever your favorite news outlet reports is what you believe.

Almost all of the coal miners voted for Trump last November. Among the Union voters, right now it may be 50/50 (still much improvement from the 75%+ Democrat support witnessed among them a few years back).

These supporters were with trump from the beginning and there's pretty much no reason for them not to support him because he's exactly doing what he promised them during the campaign period. The controversies that surround trump today should have been expected the moment he won the presidency. And i think we'll be seeing a lot more of this, judging by how he thinks and the decisions he makes and also i expect his followers would cheer for every one of those decisions
