In fact, the Bitcointalk logo is the second one that was created and the logo we know about Bitcoin was created by bitboy, I always say that it is the big unknown in the history of Bitcoin, maybe it has not interested in popularity either.

In my opinion, the Bitcointalk logo is perfect (made by Satoshi), and if a new Bitcointalk is born, the logo has to be the same, this logo has its own story.

Here some information, satoshi and bitboy crossing messages:

Web design, logo and overall look was never a priority of this forum. If you use web.archive.org then you'll see that website looks the same as it was years ago, the only difference is that there was merit and some features added, otherwise there is still place to enter your ICQ:AIM:MSN:YIM. Almost no one uses these communication methods right now. This website may needs rebranding (I still like it this way) and new forum software will be the result of that, after finishing working on that and already integrating with current one, they may be offer for logo from theymos on this website with good reward. But still better to get answer from him, hope he will post there.

I stand with Ukraine.
A member created this banner for the forum, and it's one that I use on my sites

Sorry... I don't know who created this, but I have to say that this is very bad example...stretched letters are big no no.
Any designer who see this will tell you the same thing

I agree, looks very unprofessional. Even something as simple as this(not created by me):

would do much better, imo.

As for the bitcointalk's logotype, I agree with the posters above saying that it's impossible to come up with a better logo than the current one.

What I meant was if the forum will announce that it needs a new logotype design, there will be dozens of cool variants.

Furthermore, there are some beautiful hats designed by community members within the Art contest and before that.
I could miss some hats, so if anyone knows missed beautiful hats, please give me links.

Even as a non-designer, I concur. Both of the B's are kinda redundant too.

There was a discussion about this very topic last year (and probably a few more), the thread also has some proposals for a logo:

There is one Bitcointalk logo, but I think it's unofficial

But I think that logo isn't must have thing for forum. It's enough just to have that favicon IMO.

What's cooler than Bitcoin - OK, I know, Bitcoin is hot. Smiley

To answer your question, This forum was created by Satoshi to promote Bitcoin. In my opinion it is the only forum that really has the right to use the Bitcoin logo, so why shouldn't it do so?

Oh, that's the part that I didn't know. The fact that Bitcointalk was founded by the creator of BTC himself explains everything. My point was like there a plenty of blogs/youtube channels about Apple products with their own brandings.

Thanks for your feedback.

Maybe I don't know the story or something but why bitcointalk's logotype is just a bitcoin. I'm more than sure there can be created something way cooler.

The current logo is the (second) logo design made by Satoshi himself. I don't see how it can get cooler than that.
