I think i've said it before, but why not? It has a nice big community and because it has a meme behind, it brought a lot of new people into crytpocurrency  Smiley

I think in a nutshell it never has taken itself too seriously and is a "fun" take on Crypto at a low starting price that new people can buy into so i think it's good for crypto currency as a whole.  The community is also very active and generous.

My question is, why is litecoin so popular  Lips sealed
cuz it saved the ATI gpu world~

yep just look at the shortages of video cards, some have said its directly related to litecoin taking off.

I see FEAR in the words of Dogecoin haters, they are concerned about their coins. Haters motivate the dogecoin community and we love it. It means people are recognising it's value and feel threatened about. Keep hating haters... we love you..   Grin

I must admit,  despite mining constantly for DOGE,  I'm surprised at its resillience.

@hilariousandco   Is that what you think about all/most of the currently most popular alt. currencies?

and if doges are and will be so spread out and so many People own them, dont you think that even if they are mined out,
there will be lots of ppeople trading it enough so it will stay alive?

What do you define as most popular?  But yeah, pretty much.

DOGE is having a hard time, every multipool is leeching it. Middlecoin.org is selling 200BTC worth of doge every day.

I don't understand.
I'm not a big Dogecoin fan but it looks like it's the most successful scrypt fork of 2013 year. I know that it was start as joke, but it's not joke anymore!

Here is coinmarketcap statistics on 23 january 2014:

Code:
# Name	        Market Cap	Price	        Total Supply	      Volume (24h)
1 Bitcoin 12,301,125 BTC 1.00 BTC 12,301,125 BTC      18,834 BTC
3 Litecoin 673,424 BTC 0.02684 BTC 25,090,304 LTC      12,043 BTC
7 DogeCoin 63,688 BTC 1.85e-06 BTC 34,426,022,271 DOGE   5,261 BTC

If you look at volume section you'll see that it is the most traded coin after Bitcoin and Litecoin!

Well it has the meme factor as those spread the coin like wildfire. It's not going to last though. It'll die off once the miners move on and eventually the users. It has no long term uses.

And this:
