The reason for not living in an ideal society is that there are many differences of opinion between people in the society. Also a detailed history of slavery racism and the civil rights movement and their successes and failures. In North America African Americans are subjected to all sorts of subtle and gross forms of barbarism illegal imprisonment and deprivation and cannot survive within the boundaries of the established "democracy" in a society of poor people.

Because we are all different and have different ideas of an ideal society and it's normal. Everything we can do is concentrate on living our own lifes to the fullest we can and respect borders of others.

There are still a bunch of people who only wants power. There is a bunch of people and they don't accept we're all different. That's the point. Utopia exists only in movies & books Sad Sad

Why don't we still live in an ideal society? After all, each of us wishes good to ourselves and to people around. None of us want war. Everyone wants to live in abundance so that there is food, a home, a clean environment. Can't we do this? What do you personally do so that all this becomes tomorrow?

No one of the citizens wants war. But do you ask governments what they want?
They can feed us with hatred if they want to start a war for their own benefits. In this case a war starts without any clear or serious reason but you are obsessed that you need to fight for that.

That's right. Even if we create a new society, there will be people who always want to have more benefits than others, by any means, even illegal. That is why mankind cannot find the golden mean in the question of how we all should live well.

Okay, so when we say ideal, it means "perfect" and we all know that nobody's perfect, nothing is perfect. And there is always conflict. Not everyone has the same opinion, and some wants more than the others.

In my field, which is engineering, no mechanism is 100% efficient. There are always losses. And I guess our society is also like that. We cannot achieve the perfect society you want because of all our differences. Least we could do is to respect that differences.

The ideal society is never going to happen. Because we have been a fight with each other since the dawn of humanity.

Some for money, some for power, some for women, and so on.

I have to admit that there is a barrel effect in human society. As long as the quality of some people is not improved, the ideal society is a dream.

To give you an example, Wei Zhongxian, the eunuch of the Ming Dynasty, made the people miserable when he gained absolute power.

When people thought that the new emperor Chongzhen would give them new hope to live an ideal life. The Ming dynasty was in crisis, both internally and externally.

As a result, the ideal society had been a luxury from ancient times to the present. If you can't understand my example, you can refer to this article. https://www.mdhist.com/eunuch/3872/

Yeah, we don't like wars but we aren't the only people that are living in this world. It's a reality that there are higher ups or people who are pleased to see the misfortune of others and looking at other lives to perish for them to apply the agenda they have. That's why they are create ruckus, disturbance and wars.

Since time immemorial, there's already the division and wars after wars. It's a dream that probably we will never see. You shouldn't focus looking for the ideal society but be the ideal person that's good enough to be seen in this society.

Why do we call an ideal world utopia? Because it is not feasible. As long as there are wars, famines, poverty, and racial feuds, talking about an ideal world are inappropriate. And if you listen to analysts who prophesy the crisis after the end of the pandemic, you should not hope for positive changes.

Ideal world is nothing but just simply a fantasy. Look we can't hold on to what we want for all. People have different opinions and have different interests and these make every person expectations far from reality if that is concerning about like what you want— ideal world.

An "ideal" society is a catch 22. It's impossible because what is ideal for one is not for another.

An ideal society for Fidel Castro was him in charge and the rest of his people living in poverty. Ideal is subjective.
There are as many worlds as there are minds.

I suppose an ideal society in a general sense would be one in which people could choose freedom and live as they desire, which is only possible through decentralization. No one person should play God and decide how others should live, but this is always the case as long as this is possible. it's human nature to be imperialist.

This is why it's important to support truly decentralized projects. That can which be found on https://defiprime.com/, https://www.virieproject.com/, for ex.

The reason we don't live in an ideal society is, sin. Adam and Eve turned their backs on God, even though God was the One Who was holding them in the beginnings of an ideal society.

Most people will read to the point where they see the word "God." Then they will move on to some other post. They are still turning their backs on God. It wasn't Adam and Eve only.

How many times do any of us consider God during the day? We might pray in the morning and evening. We might pray before meals. We might pray when there is a problem in our life. But do we really seek God?

I suggest that you fill up on God's Word, the Bible, at the same time you are seeking God. This will please Him, because it is people who are in favor of Him that He seeks. He will bless your life if you sincerely do this.

ancient people didnt have ideal society
tribes battled each other all the time
and i guarantee you back then more dogs were eaten

these days we are more diverse.. but still want others to pay attention to a small groups voice
take vegans. they are not happy just to eat veg. they ant other people to eat veg too and will get angry and aggressive if we ignore them

the ancient people have the ideal society until we are introduced to the concept of ownership. i was listening to my prof when he once discussed about this. i don't know if he was right about it but miraculously i believe him.  its impossible to have ideal society today because there is less resources for anyone. its a dog eat dog world now and there is no friendly competition.

its the drone vs diverse problem

drones all want the same thing, it may make everyone content and settled that everything is equal and everyone gets things the same.. but when demand for one common thing is questioned then there is those that want that one thing more then the other.
whether its money, resources, land, or status

diverse all want different things, it may make everyone not want the same things thus allow for more variety and less 'demand' of a certain resource.. some people like coastal property, some like urban property some like courtyside/outback property.
however diversity means not everyone will agree and can cause arguments in area's where a set single choice/option is trying to be made

The answer is in your question itself. Each one of us does not wish good to people around us. We wish the best for ourselves and only those closest in our circle. We have evolved from a tribal mindset and it is our nature to distrust when people are different from us. That is a human instinct for majority of people. Only when we get to know each other and the world better, through education, do we realize that underneath we are all the same.
Compassion and empathy with every other human is a trait that mostly depends on a person's exposure to a culture of respect and open-mindedness. The kind of culture that Science (Not religion) embraces. I think we did a lot of progress on this path over the years when multiculturalism and globalization were new and honest. All that progress has been lost to a large extent thanks to the widespread wealth inequalities and backlash of xenophobia.

We cannot live in a perfect society. Things will be perfect for a while at certain parts of the world depending on level of education and multiculturalism. Then certain events take place and the cycle will start. Plus there are people who are pure evil. They will naturally tend to disrupt anything that approaches a state of innocent peacefulness.

I personally don't bother much about it because I know that for each of us the "ideal society" is a different concept. While you may think society doesn't need wars and only really needs basic stuff for all of us to be fair to each other, a billionaire might think we need wars so that a part of the society they don't agree with goes away and in order to reach certain goals.

If and only "ideal society" was the same concept for everyone, we'd all be in one right now. But we aren't, because wealth inequality mostly comes from those who make it possible to exist (aka the rich).

Ok for a moment think we are living in a society where everyone has a lot of food, a good place to live and lot of money in the bank accounts. This would mean that no one is poor. Now since no one needs to earn money, so no one will do any kind of jobs. You will not find food to eat and other things because they will be no labor in the factories as who would work when everyone has lot of money.
The society can't only run if few of them are rich and few of them are poorer. Everyone is dependent upon other and that's how the circle of the life runs.

Imho there's no such thing as an ideal society, everyone's ideals differ from each other and people can't even live up to their own ideals.

We can try to build a better society but from what i can see, we already have build some impressive concepts on how to run countries.
Getting rid of wars or pollution however is near impossible with any current solutions and those are complex issues, and way more noble objectives then humanity itself.

But hell, maybe tech and AI saves us in the end, because people themselves sure as fuck don't.

What kind of ideal society do you mean? We are lived in a different country with an unusual habit, so that can be a different answer. But now, we are having the same problem which is we have a virus still hanging around out there and try to search for a new target. We will have an ideal society in our country, but after this pandemic is ended which we don't know when it is going over. Right now, we should take care of our health by reminding ourselves and other people to keep healthy so that we can prevent the virus.
