bitcoin and other digital currencies should not be confused with an item. bitcoin is a currency, while television or a car or something else is an item or device, an item will be left behind if it cannot issue new innovations that are developing. but the currency will continue to be a currency. bitcoin is the first digital currency that in my opinion never will be unchallenged. like the example of the USD, the USD will not be matched with other currencies because the USD is a benchmark for other currencies, as well as bitcoin.

yes of course no one will ever be able to beat the price of bitcoin because altcoin is different from bitcoin, altcoin has a lot of supply and few users, whereas bitcoin has a limited supply and has many requests that will make the price very expensive and unbeatable.

The easiest answer is because Bitcoin is not yet fully adopted, if we are going to replace it now, those who are late coming in will be surprised that Bitcoin is not the number one coin anymore, and they will have a weak belief that Cryptocurrency can last long, when it should not be the case, and besides the top coins behind Bitcoin are not really decentralized compared to Bitcoin.

For now, nothing ca replace bit coin. But we don't know the future. But as I see it. Bit coin is a currency. And currency is very hard to change example is the dollar. Does the dollar change since it has been made? Maybe the bill had change but not the currency. It is the same thing as the bitcoin. It is a currency, and the good thing is it is not only in a single country it's in the whole world that is why bitcoin is the most expensive currency in the world. It is used by many people. The only disadvantage here is at some places that ther is no enough technology to utilize the use of bitcoin we can't use bitcoin like if there is no internet or computer or cellphone on a certain place we could not use bitcoin there. But in some urban area bitcoin can be utilize and use as a medium of exchange. That is why bitcoin grow big and it will be hard to replace by someother alt coin because it is the currency not only by one country but by the whole world. We can't see a country change it's currency. A country only change it's currency when it is colonize by the other country. I think for now no other alt coin can colonize the whole world.

Because he is the thing. Everything start with Bitcoin. Other crypto currencies just boom in here all just because of the popularity of the Bitcoin. So there is no doubt why those second in line to Bitcoin cannot defeat there origin. Although some are keep on climbing, no one step one forward to Bitcoin.

Completely agree with you, mate. Bitcoin will always be the leader of the crypto space no matter what. Many altcoins have come and gone over time delivering "superior" features without delivering true use cases within the mainstream world. Others have remained solid in their position on the market, but have been unable to outmatch Bitcoin in terms of mainstream adoption. Because of these reasons, it's very unlikely that the pioneer cryptocurrency will be replaced anytime soon. The only way Bitcoin can be taken down is if governments enforce tightening regulations against it. Other than that, I don't see any other altcoin taking its "throne" anytime soon.

But who knows? Given how fast Blockchain technology and the crypto space progresses, Bitcoin could be a thing of the past if it doesn't improve over time. After all, it seems that many people prefer convenience (faster transactions and lower fees) on top of security (censorship-resistance, and decentralization). Time will tell us what will be the fate of Bitcoin, as the space grows over time with fresh ideas that will challenge even the most prominent cryptocurrencies on the market. But I'm sure that Bitcoin will win in the long run, as it's already too big to fail. Just my opinion

bitcoin is way too much popular, every newbie steps into crypto world with only bitcoin knowledge. if any alt coin wants to surpass bitcoin, it needs to have some record breaking moves which can make it to the news and spread the word.

Until whenever bitcoin cannot be replaced by any altcoins, there are many reasons for this Bitcoin can't be replaced because bitcoin
like a mother of cryptocurrency so altcoins only become followers, bitcoin is always dominant among altcoins, altcoins prices follow

Indeed. Altcoins demand and community support aren't enough to surpass bitcoin. every altcoins project need to develop any platform or services that bring non crypto users here. if that didn't happen there is no chance that bitcoin will be second or lost in this era. but in my perspective.. if manipulators want 1 altcoin to be number one I think they can.

Anyone know that no one can replace bitcoin any altcoin are no one can replace it because bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency that can exchange in cash.

It's too early. We don't know how long the reign of bitcoin would last as there would never be a direct competitor to bitcoin.
Bitcoin has became too large and popular on it's genre that no other coins could compete with it. Maybe as we come towards the saturation of bitcoin supply and it would be a precious and scarce thing, people could chose another coin to act like bitcoin.

How is it that Bitcoin will never have a direct competitor? And then who is Ethereum? On the contrary, I see that Ethereum continues to develop its network faster than Bitcoin over the last year.

I am happy that in your young rank you know Bitcoin is. That means bitcoin still on demand even if the value of it drops down for now. Bitcoin will always remain the king because of its dominance in the market cap. Bitcoin was also most of us first word when we started learning crypto and also what most of us always buy first before we exchange it to altcoin.

You have a point I am pretty sure that bitcoin could be replace by new currency however it will not be some altcoins just like USD it never been replaced by any fiat but now bitcoin is gradually taking its crown in different manner. Bitcoin will never be replace by any altcoins due to the fact that they are dependent on it, as bitcoin dip they also tend to the same, more likely bitcoin could a very big impact on crypto market unlike of some sort of coins.

altcoin cannot replace bitcoin in my opinion because bitcoin is:
1. bitcoin is the first and foremost coin in cryptocurrency.
2. after its high rise in 2017 bitcoin became very popular and altcoin was not well known.
3. bitcoin has a very high value it will be difficult for altcoin to rival the price of bitcoin.
4. bitcoin continues to grow and has a large community.
5. and most altcoins cannot last long on the crypto market, which makes investors uninterested in investing in altcoin.

Hmm.. you are right. I read somewhere that up to 3 million BTC may be lost forever (i.e they could not be spent as the private keys are lost). And this number includes close to BTC980,000 held in Satoshi's wallets. And as time progresses, the number is most likely to increase. A lot of the users don't share their backups with anyone and if something happens to them, then these coins are gone.

The best example is that of the Canadian exchange QuadrigaCX. A huge amount of coins belonging to the exchange users were being held in a wallet and only the owner of the exchange (Gerald William Cotten) had the private keys to access them. Cotten died suddenly in 2018, leaving the exchange users without a way to recover their coins. And incidents such as this one are not very isolated.
