Why Haven't We Met Aliens Yet? Because They've Evolved into AI
Well, OK... but an AI cant send out scouting drones? Every kind of intelligent entity trying to discover and map its surroundings. More likely they are simply very far, or they are just at the same level as we are, or they are far beyond our level and we don't notice their presence.
Last one is where article is going. Because of the acceleration of technology and how long they could have existed, they don't say ai as only machine intelligence. But life that maybe evolved beyond that as well. Maybe capable of reorganizing every physical part of themselves. So too far advanced and any evidence of them "simply beyond our comprehension and physical abilities. " The aliens that have to send the scouts may be the minority. And won't live long in that stage of evolution.
