You invested in a ICO or IEO project at 1$ per token or coin and the price surge up to 3$ but because you see potential in the project you decide to hold and after few months the price goes down to 0.45$ and after four years and the token surge back to 3$, my question is why the wait? You hold a coin for years just to go back to it's ATH (All Time High) ? And most times majority of coins don't go back to their ATH ever again, what could you learn from this? Never ever hesitate to take profits, even if the project is the best ever, take profits, invest again when price is down because believe me, the price will surely go down

if humans are programmed to see the future won't we all be rich?
Not everyone will think the way you do about investing because they have a profit target they want to achieve. If it were me, then I would sell everything and enjoy the profit. But what do other people who are targeting higher return think, can we blame them just for not selling all the coin or token they invested ?
I think people who believe in the potential of future project are not greedy people. They have considered the possible risk (price reduction) and they have different belief about what they have invested.

Bitter truth, after going through this post l feel like I have made the same mistake where most of them do. Well that's the nature of a human when it comes to money everyone expects more Cheesy

Some times it better to sell our asset when the value is going through a descent profit but it depends on the project, those who plan for long-term they don't even care till ages but it's risky too. My point is it's always better to sell our asset in a descent profit rather than expecting big.

investors thinking in long term they will gain huge profit, meanwhile in fact when it pumped actually have same result if we hold it for years. sometimes i am confuse how could they do this  , when profits in their eyes not liquidated and prefer to wait for several year. in my analisys, when price pumped its actually equal with price movement for long term. so sell it immediately better than hold it.

This is what often happens to many people, never satisfied with the profit that is actually sufficient. Greed for cryptocurrency will bring people to regret it. Sometimes I still experience it too. It takes time not to do something like this.

It's hard to moderate your greed when you are holding coins with good potential you always see it aiming from one all-time high to another, everybody becomes a victim of this one time or another, I am too and I lose a lot from not selling from some of my coins all-time high one example is OIKOS I should have sold it when it hit  $0.14 now it is down 85%, what big loss.

You are on point, alot of traders lose their hard earn money due to waiting too long for pump before dumping, the best is to dump after small gain and move on.

If we can all see the future of the price I believe the result will be in chaos. All traders will rush to buy/sell a token and I don't think so if trading is profitable anymore because no one will buy at price that will surely dump because everyone saw what will gonna happened.

TP is the correct reaction on trading no matter how big or small it is. A profit is a profit and never regret if you early TP. Its better than being stuck in loss to a coin that you FOMO buy.

this is very experienced by all traders. Indeed, sometimes when the price drops drastically we are used to waiting for the price to match what we expect, for example when the price increases, we are hesitant and wait at a large enough number, even though at that time the price drops back to the bottom. as a result makes us have to wait even longer.

Many experience it during ICO Craze and wasn't able to withdraw or use their investments Wisely since they opted to just wait or hold it than to trade it. I'd been there and realize that it's better to trade them faster after their success in ICO as most of the coins before was not able to regain their ATH and some just did scam exit. It's part of experience and once we accept our faults we will find ways to not let it happens again.

How I wish the market is predictable so we can all be rich but it's not the way it works we suffer because of this i am a victim of so many waiting for another all time high that took a lo tfo time to come the latest of which is the Uniswap I should have sold half of it when it reach it's all time high of $8 now I'm crossing my finger that it reach $8 or even more.
Well said brother/sister, I would have make good money if I always take profits from projects, I have this mentality of holding for years and that have gotten me nowhere, since 2017 all altcoins I hold never go back to their ATH again, I guess I learned the hard way but now I'm a different person

In the process of trying to earn big you will end up losing big, that's all I can say about what OP is talking about, to me it's still greed and in the most painful way because holding on to tokens for years and in the end still same result isn't a easy task, fake hope I presume

we may not always know how the rise in the price of the coin will proceed. we can return to the level of $ 0.45, but also the price can go up to $ 10. Here everyone chooses their own investment strategy for themselves.

Even as a bounty hunter I always sell my share of the tokens and HODL very limited numbers of tokens that looks like they have good future, you can never be sure though so you can get away with holding few coins, for example you can earn 100,000 from a bounty, sell 80% and hold 20%

Holders is mostly who lost a lot becuase they think its a good idea to wait longer and it can give them more profit . there are many example that lost a lot in crypto.one of the example is the ATH of bitcoin and ethereum because people believe it will increase more the pricein in the next more day they continue holding it until its too late for them to take the profit. Hoping ,that the price will be back. they continue holding it until they see more dump happen in price.  and later on sell it in deep because they are now more afraid that there may be nothing left in their investment.

Hm, the best advice I can give on this topic is to HODL only few tokens of a particular project, for example you have 1000 tokens that worths 1000$ @1$ per token, if you aren't sure where this project will go in future but you still want to HODL the best thing to do is HODL 100 pieces of the tokens, you don't have to HODL the complete 1000 pieces

if humans are programmed to see the future won't we all be rich?

This is one of the answer and another is greed.
People do think if it's increasing in such a rate, it would reach a much higher price. And we don't know where exactly would it stop x1.5, x2, x5, x10 or even x1000. So, the best way to be secure is to sell your coins on batches so that you won't miss the hike. Don't sell all your coins at once. Even if you are for a longer shot, it would be wise to play with the market waves with a portion of your coins. Like set 75% of it for your long term goal while do some grid trades with the 25%.

Because people become greedy when they see the price can surge up to $3, and they will think that the price will go up higher.
Long-term investing is not greed. Some people have reasons why they do it such as the inability to predict the price in a short time or not at all so the price prediction is done by looking at project potential (for new projects) or future fundamental predictions instead.

It is why we need to sell the coin or token if the price can jump to the highest price, so we can take the initial money plus with the profit.
When the higest price is reached, even veteran traders don't realize that it is ATH.

the desire of those who hold a coin sometimes wants a higher price. In general, a coin that is as excited as that can still have a very high value. that is common sense. however, when the price drops, we realize that it is a very good price to sell.

however, we can only speculate that the price will reach what we targeted. when the price goes down and it comes back at a high price, I think people will start selling it. it's the same as people holding bitcoin at $ 20k. Nowadays, so many people are even waiting for the bitcoin price to hit $ 15k, even me.

I completely agree with you. It is better to stick to this strategy: 1 - after investing in an ICO or IEO and entering the exchange, if you already have x2 and you believe in the project, you can sell half of it to return your investment, leave the rest and wait for further growth. 2 - If you do not believe in the project and went to get a quick profit, sell everything at once on the first candle. And then do not follow the project, because if the price starts to rise, you will devour FOMO.
