Libra still has to face American regulations because it is feared that libra will damage the financial order in America. Libra has a lot of support but it still needs official regulations to make libra public. Libra still has to fight again.

My little thought is that if libra only agrees to use USD as a global guarantor reserve, this will actually be useful, especially because the centralized system can continue to progressively make policies so that all supply and demand can be controlled, this will be the same as what the USDC does, if it works and continues to grow, the application of libra will actually be very difficult if implemented outside the United States, not inside.

FYI,Mark Zuckerberg has regulatory issues on launching their project such as governments like USA and France has against that project maybe this will happen with the remaining governments as well so the launch will take too much time from now until that why not try any other untility coins which is something not controlled by anyone?

Why you are so much interested on Facebook's lira project when you don't even have an account there? Roll Eyes

In my opinion, @OP looks more at the opportunity side, as we know that Mark Zuckerberg has appeal in every platform he has developed and so far his platform has been a huge success. I'm sure @OP also thinks of opportunities like Mark Zuckerberg did, although Libra is still faced with regulatory issues, but I'm sure when Libra is able to overcome it all, soon this coin will develop rapidly.

Firstly I would like to say I don't care about one coin from another. All I want is utility. I want to be able to pay someone for services rendered.
There is no need to have any affinity towards any particular coin and no one in the market will invest because of a particular coins simply because the name looks cool, you need to have some form of utility and profit if you are holding your value in it and that is why everyone invest in bitcoin and some in altcoins thinking that they could get any sort of benefit.

I have no loyalty to any coin.
You do not need to and if anyone say so they are getting some sort of benefit from it.

I don't have a Facebook account. But I'm going to get one because of Libra.
You do not need to create a facebook account if you are planning to use their centralized coin as they will have a separate wallet for it Wink.

If you talk about utilities and will pay someone for his services, then there are many people willing to accept with any coin, even they also accept paypal. But here discuss about a currency that can be owned without identity, self-controlled or not centralized. All these things are already owned by Bitcoin, don't you know and turn a blind eye to the use of Bitcoin from real use? Because there are many people, communities, shops, e-commerce, companies or anyone who can be paid Bitcoin for services and other things.

If we talk about libra, it's clear we know of the policy and regulatory issues of the government there that prohibit crypto and its derivatives, including libra. We can dream, but if we continue to sleep and have not yet woken up (libra launched) then it is impossible for the dream to come true.

The sad part of your comment is that you have a point. A very good point.

Just a wee quote

You may say I`m a dreamer; but I`m not the only one.

Also what you say applies to any other coin, if that coin were to become ubiquitous

None said you as a dreamer but just try to realize the fact of libra will become a reality in the future.

https://www.tradersbible.com/news/markets/facebook-shifts-focus-from-libra-to-new-payment-service

that's a new step that has already created by facebook. i think facebook has been doing the right choice, facebook needs to avoid the regulators by create another way to issue the same service.

The worst part in the economic system when anything controlled by the regulators.

Hi

Firstly I would like to say I don't care about one coin from another. All I want is utility. I want to be able to pay someone for services rendered.

THAT'S ALL I CARE ABOUT.. I have no loyalty to any coin.

I don't have a Facebook account. But I'm going to get one because of Libra.

I see a business opportunity with Libra and that's that. Some business opportunity bear fruit some don't. You could say that's my own business which I'm not going to discuss here.

OK.. Why will Libra be a game changer.

Because over night millions of people who have no understanding of coins are suddenly going to. And developers are going swarm to Libra..

AND PEOPLE ARE GOING TO ACTUALLY USE LIBRA.

Let me ask you this, do you actually use a coin? Do you ask for a service and pay for that service or product with any coins. I would bet you don't. Some may. And good on them. But the vast majority here ( bitcointalk ) don't. ( I maybe wrong)

But people are going to use Libra. Its not investment. Its a tool. A stable tool.

That other day I used Iota as a tool. And it worked for me. I asked for a service and received a service. And I payed for that service in Iota.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53286995

I was lucky, I found a person with a skill set and the ability to accept payment in the currency I had. Iota...

Soon millions of people with  the skill set I need will be able and willing to accept payment from me.

Libra may not be a game changer for you. But it is for me.
We have different goals and would like to achieve in our life, if Libra can really help you then you will surely use and support it but for others that cannot gain a positive outcome to it then they will not care a little about Libra coin. That how the community works even in crypto community therefore it is about what can Libra gives to it's customers in order for the customers to use and hold Libra coin.

If they can give a satisfaction to the users then Libra coin will become successful but if Libra cannot give what the people wants then it is useless also especially if other crypto currencies can provide it.

Libra might look good because it is supported by the largest social media in the world with the largest number of members. But right now Libra is still facing regulatory constraints and I think this process will take a long time because it involves the monetary system adopted by America and the world.
And they have free advertisement from thier own social media which is good for maketing and to increase adoption in public using that marketing.
In terms regulatory they need to fix some issue first before they can fully launch it to public.

Win against who or what, your question is not complete. Every coin has chance to survive but Libra need hard work, their government still not agree to release Libra in public, they worry Libra value will destroy another financial instrument that can give bad impact into their economy.

My question to you is: Will regulators actually allow Libra to establish themselves, let alone succeed?

I think that if you have any sort of sense the answer to that question is no. The federal reserve has already shown that they are quite unwilling to let go of the control that they have over monetary policy to a private industry, especially one the size of Facebook.

It's not that Libra can't succeed, but it's just very difficult to do so.
