Reddit is over censored and the moderators on those subreddits have gotten out of control.  I don't visit that site anymore because of this.

Many are hesitant to give friends and family advice about bitcoin in case things go south and they get blamed.  Money can really ruin your personal relationships.

pretty simple mantra here - mind your own business!
if you try to tell somebody "buy this coin and hodl", you will be labeled as bag holder of that coin, endorser, promoter, name it...
so better keep your business within yourself and let them do their own.
Nah ofcourse asking someone close to me are another different case because the only thing that we can help this community is to spread the cryptocurrency for all those people that may trust us

First our family members who will also benefits when time comes that crypto is adopted by the whole world, second our close friends that will believe us because they trust our decisions and we know from ourselves that all we want is their goodness in future

Peace be with you!
On this forum and crypto-related subreddits they won't let you give these kind of advices, like "Buy & HODL"

But then why the mainstream magazines can do the opposite and nobody complains?

We all know that they spread FUD news so that everybody sells their positions so that the Elites buy at a low price.
That has been their strategy all over the 2018.

Indeed i've read a news on WSJ and other sites on Dec. 2017 saying that the governments would be buying cryptocurrencies to have an additional reserve, other than gold and foreign currencies.

Ask yourself: why did the bear run happen last year if the govs where buying?
There's only one answer: FUD news, and too many people that believe them and get scared , perhaps because you still haven't learned to HODL what you can afford to lose.
That's why you are all susceptible to FUD.

Please learn to control your emotions , and consider that even the gov knows that "BTC is too big to fail", that's why they haven't banned it, like the linked article says.

That means only one thing: BTC is the future.
There's no need to be impressed by scarecrows.

Hope it helps

It is simply because of the fact that not all people are cryptocurrency friendly. What I mean is that they don't know about Bitcoin or in general they don't have enough knowledge to get into the Bitcoin industry. The consequences could be that their investment might be lost  and will never be recovered again all are wasted due to ignorance. FUD is also there to make the emotions of investors more complicated.

You have a positive behavior which is very good as I am on your side. Spreading bad news is not new already, this kind of tactic has been repeating every now and then.

You just need to adapt to it and you will surely gain a better profit in the long run. Though newbies will surely fall to this kind of tricks and even saying that it is the end of bitcoin. Bitcoin has a bright future, I am pretty sure of it.
the development of bitcoin is indeed very good, however, I can only motivate people in this development. I do not recommend that they buy, because I only say that they need to buy it when it's really needed, or indeed because they need it. sometimes, I also don't want to be blamed for the situation that happened Grin

This topic is all.about holding crypto or selling it. I just wonder why the title talk about the the prohibition of one to encourage to buy bitcoin though we know that there is no really prohibition in encouraging others to buy bitcoin. Now, if bitcoim is future as what OP stated then it is good now to invest.

Taking high risk if it will succeed means a huge profit.

If you don't have enough knowledge about cryptocurrency of course you can say or tell anybody a lot of negative about this like FUD and this is scam or hack investment

So if you already knowledgeable about this i think always spread positive about crypto that's all you can because you can't control other what they think or do about this

Encouraging others to buy cryptocurrency is not prohibited. Only here is the moral and ethical side of these actions. It is better to explain both the advantages and disadvantages of cryptocurrency, as well as point out the risks that each cryptocurrency owner will be subject to, leaving the final decision on this person. Such an unobtrusive explanation is necessary so that you do not feel guilty if this person suffers losses in the future. This person may also blame you for the damage caused to him.

Logically correct, they spread FUD to buy at lower prices.

In the situation of promoting bitcoin there is nothing wrong with that just make you that you explain it well up to the risk they are taking.

I agree with the statements posted before this.

Why would I push someone to buy Bitcoin or a certain cryptocurrency? They might suspect me as an endorser or an advertiser of that coin, and if something happens I know the blame will be pointed directly at me. I guess it is fine that they should know what they want to do and what we should do, we don't need to force them or push them to like or buy something even if we like it.

not everyone can afford it. Because it is very expensive.
Only because the price is $5000+ that doesn't mean Bitcoin is expensive. It's not a requirement to buy 1 Bitcoin because most crypto exchanges have the lowest minimum when it comes to buying Bitcoin.

It's hard to force someone to buy bitcoin.
When you motivate someone to buy Bitcoin your giving them insight. forcing them to buy is different it's like giving pressure to the person so they would buy it.

Its not my job to spread fud, its just that i suspect everybody else does it when they hold more and wants profit from spreading some news. i always wonder why some users spurt out some accusations about the team being scam when in fact these users previously support the team like a die hard. eventually you'll figure the guy wanted to buy more.

Now come to think of it why the team messes up big time while they are very good at what they are doing form the start of the ICO but after it, they suddenly started to act like a beginner. I suspect they wanted to buy back their own coin the cheapest possible like $50 per 1M token.

Maybe it's because if we motivate others, they can directly to buy bitcoin without making analysis and they only buy instantly at the market. That is very risky for them because the price is volatile and we don't know if the price can stay at a price now or will get down in the next hours. They can buy bitcoin, but only after they analyze the market, so they know when to buy bitcoin.

I don't think its forbidden to motivate others especially newbie. So how upcoming generation will know and accept bitcoin. I don't trust on FUD or FOMO. And I believe every crypto users should avoid it. But unfortunately our greedy nature is forcing to trust FUD and FOMO. We don't have enough patience really, if it were then bitcoin shouldn't dump up to $3K on last bear market. Lack of knowledge about bitcoin and crypto-currency is responsible for that. Still we have to learn and teach others about bitcoin.

Even a techie find it hard to believe, by that time it is truly an unbelievable innovation for the common people. For them all that known is the schemes and savings through banking system. Most of the time people wish to be on the safer side as well doesn't wish to take risk. Here there is risk as well knowledge is important to stand long in the market. With all this factors if we suggest and fortunately if the market moves downtrend people won't have the patience as well won't understand about its recovery. This is why not everyone motivated.

In this forum you can express and justify any point of view regarding cryptocurrency. Some have non-acceptance of information to certain coins or tokens, but this is more of their half the problem.
In my opinion, if you call everyone to buy bitcoins, hardly anyone would say that it is forbidden to do that. You just need to justify your point of view. Considering that at this forum we simultaneously conduct our business in cryptocurrency, everyone has the right to consider the words of the other as an interested advertisement of individual coins or tokens.

But I see the exact opposite thing on the forum and other places. People keep on suggesting other to buy crypto currencies and hold them as long as possible. Even though when the times wrong, they till suggest blandly to buy and keep holding. Not to sell even though they would have made profit and saved themselves from suffering from losses.
And yeah, the mainstream media discourages people from investing on bitcoin/cryptocurrencies because they are controlled by the government and they also like to create controversies.

agreed on that mate because those people that we will encourage to buy in will give their trust on us not on cryptocurrency so whenever theres a failure for sure we’ll be the one to blame so lets not ask people to buy instead lets educate them on what is crypto currency is all about and if they decide to purchase any of currency or tokens atleast it was their own risk and not ours
That's much better, teach them how to select quality coins to invest their money instead of directly tell them what you are supporting, it's their money so they need to learn how to save it and not to be moved by anything, self assessment can bring them to  much better journey and much higher successful rate than leaning to anyone to ride with.

We should make a distinction between informing others about bitcoin and convincing them to buy it. I think the former is a good idea while the latter usually isn't. As the market has shown over the last 16 months, it is highly volatile and because of that most people cannot stomach the action. In this market, $1000 can easily turn to $100 or even less - and the opposite is also true. I'd stick to mainly discussing the technical aspects or advantages of using cryptocurrency instead.
