There are lies, damned lies and statistics. MTwain
When I inquired on the matter back in 2018, the answer pointed to it being a deliberate feature, set in order to avoid people reaching out to emails that are recycled over time:

I was trying to translate the OP (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/recovering-hackedlost-accounts-5089777) for my local board, since it's an important topic for all to see, but I'm having issues when trying to include the recovery email in a forum post:

Rather than copying the email address, please just say "the email address in theymos's post" or similar. These email addresses will be periodically cycled, so if you copy it, it'll stop working eventually.

Thanks.
It’s something quite witty that I haven’t seen anywhere else (a step further could be to replace the email for a link to the recoveries post, instead of the currently operationally capped email).

Signature space for rent
I am not sure about theymos thoughts, but most probably he disables posting recovery emails because of preventing unsolicited or spam emails. Who really needs it definitely will discover this recovery mail to recover his account. But we know the habit of users especially newbies will send unsolicited and unnecessary emails to recovery mail. So for that reason recovery process would be slower. It's pretty easy to add a thread link than posting an email. Once you post thread links, banned users might read the actual procedure and requirements they need to submit. If you post the only email, then banned users might miss something which would lead to delay the recovery procedure.

Instead of posting the address, you should post a link to the thread containing the email address.

The email will change periodically, and messages sent to old addresses may not get read. Also, posting actual email addresses will lead to bots picking up the email address and sending a bunch of spam to the email.

Recovery email address gets changed every year I guess which is the main reason behind this. For example, from Halab's post, recovery email for 2019 was recoveries_ 2019 _t727d @ bitcointalk.org
And the new one is the above one. So, it makes sense why it gets changed into something else. If someone gets redirected to an old post; for example a post of 2019 with the 2019 email, he will never be able to recover the account because he will send mail to the wrong address.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
What is it you're trying to post, I've managed to post and have seen email addresses posted in the past?

Was it the [suspicious link removed] that it was replaced with or something else.
Its the email for recovery - recoveries_2021_xxlgg[at]bitcointalk.org, but if you just post it in a common way it will be changed to [email protected].

You can try to click the "preview" button when posting as it work like that as well

Test [email protected]

If it was the autogen one, like said above, maybe Theymos just didn't want spam or only responds to the first few messages from an address.

I tried to post it and it really got stripped. Yet, it's still the same even if you use the code bbcode tag.

Maybe, probably theymos did it for security reasons, so that an email scraper/extractor cannot detect/get that? and so the email will not get spammed its inbox from spammers/

The revolution will be digital
In my local Bangladesh thread, someone got his account locked and is trying to recover. So, I tried to post the recovery email ID, i.e. recoveries_2021_xxlgg [at] bitcointalk.org (as per Recovering hacked/lost accounts), but it is getting transformed into something different!

Why so?
