As far as I know when the market drops under a certain limit the stockmarket is closed for a while.....

I totally agree, same goes for price going up by the way.

we need a lot more exchanges
p2p exchanges are a posibility?
trading via twitter is possible?

Everything is a possibility, and compared to MtGox everything is a better alternative. MtGox does NOT have banking licenses - they're pretty much surviving by ignoring the law atm. MtGox does NOT have a trading engine, they're running something in Excel. Anyone can do better and by all means everyone should try. The bar is incredibly, incredibly low.

Also, stuff like LocalBitcoins.

This is not about traditional economics
This is about how to deal with DDOS attacks when:

quote:
"
bitparking is not running
Mt Gox has problems
BTC-E has problems
bitcoincharts.com also not running
bitcointalk seems to be also overloaded
"
bitcoin-24.com is down
bitcoin.de is down

CampBX is running without problems and handling the dip with minimal lag.

Give us a try please!

I second that

you market was spread like 90 120 and nothing was trading when the pooh was flying.

Huge swings like today take their toll on liquidity on our platform, but the gap closes down to MtGox levels as soon as price stabilizes again.  This issue should resolve as more traders like you use CampBX.

If we're going to stop people from acting irrationally, shouldn't we also shut the market down when it goes up 25% in a 24 hour period, like it did yesterday?

You keep up this sorta talk around these here parts you'll end up in the river. Ze people wishes to be rich and it should happen by itself.

because we keep rewarding their manifest incompetence with our business

Has the sad ring of truth to it.

This is the first time I hear from you. Maybe you are not being attacked because of are "under the radar" (at least for me)?
You should start advertising on bitcoinchannel and other bitcoin related sites.

So bitcoin is totally decentralized and yet everyone is being bitchslapped by Mt.Gox's DDoS or whatever other issues they have and people are still using their business? Why? Maybe it was a bubble burst and I do not think it was a bad thing, but this could be a problem if it becomes the "new normal"

mtgox.com sometimes unreachable
bitstamp.net often unreachable (" Oops! Bitstamp is currently down")
bitcoincharts.com - "Down For Maintenance"
markets.blockchain.info - unreachable
bitcoinity.org/markets - "Down for maintenance."
Freenode IRC  #bitcoin-market - not displaying any data about makets
btc-e.com - appears to be working fine

W.T.F is going on??  Huh

Its more than obvious the mt gox exchange is manipulating the market price for profit. ive seen this a few times now, and its not rocket science. I wasnt scared at all when I seen gox lagging 1000+ seconds, and price dropped down near $120, weve all seen this before. STOP being dupped by gox, and move your funds and bitcoins out of their exchange. They have way too much power, and its obvious what theyre doing.

This is not stock markets. Bitcoin doesn't do weekends, doesn't close and doesn't give a shit about traditional economic conventions. Deal with it.
