I. Advice you to learn along the line and never hasitate to ask questions when necessary because through that way you will learn new things and get directions to alot of terms and terminalogy that may seems confusing to you at any point in time, also write less for now and read morez many things that we learn here in the forum are all gained through the ability to read others comments and understanding them accordingly.
If you come across any word or acronyms that sound wird for you, just take extra steps to search them out and know their meanings according since the forum and cryptocurrency itself is a new development that needs time to be understood properly.

Good day to you all,  straight to the point.
Why is the terms, words and some sentences that are made in bitcointalk seems different and strange to newbies like me to understand, some time I have to do extra search to be able to comprehend some comments here this question have being disturbing me for sometime now. I have decide to voice it out,  because the fear of being unable to communicate in the acceptable manner in this forum have limit my engagement in some topic of discussions I fine interesting most times.

For several weeks I have being reading and reading but I want to start contributing frequently so I do need any advice on what and how to write acceptable comments here in the forum,  since that is not stated in the rules of the forum.

This is a community of crypto enthusiasts from all parts of the world, that's why you find people expressing themselves differently. People add slangs to their write up and it is allowed. For instance, here are some acronyms commonly used in the forum and their meanings.

BTW - By the way
IMO - In my opinion
IMHO - In my humble opinion
CMIIW - Correct me if I'm wrong
IIRC - If I recall correctly
BS - Bull shit
LMK - Let me know
OMG - Oh my god

Also, here's a link to common cryptocurrency abbreviations and I hope this helps.

Your user name is coined with WH questions so, sure you would ask why from time to time, lol…

Anyway, that shouldn’t surprise you, not at all. Even in the real world you exists in, should you go to a different community, you’re sure to be introduced to different words, terminology and language. It’s just normal for engineers, doctors, lawyers, architects, archaeologists and many of those fields have different terms to go by.

Should you join here and hope to not be met by some terms that would push you into doing further research is a misconception. Don’t be shy about doing the work, you’ll get better as you go and it distinguishes you in a way based on this filed which you’ve now identified with.

You should know that every discipline or field has it  own language or terms. So, those words or sentence you have come across is/are the discipline terms and you can't understand everything at a time. Even in school we have different faculties and inside those faculties we have different department and these department have their terms and languages they use to communicate and if you are a knew comer, definitely you will have to learn because it is very important that is how it is here. This is a Bitcointalk forum definitely there will be terms and languages, so I will advise you continue your research so as to be acquainted  with those terms to enable you improve in this great forum.

Apart from the local boards, there are a lot of other boards that speak English here on the forum, so I am just wondering the things that are making you confused or the sentences that are difficult for you to comprehend. A good example of what you are saying will really be appreciated. You can quote any of those words or sentences you are referring to. If it's for some abbreviated words, with time you will get to know what everything means, and for anyone you don't know, you can quote the reply to ask your question right there.

I think the only thing that makes it different is the way we say words here, since it is easy to understand by the members, but since in the real world on a daily basis, they don't talk about stuff and learn what was being discussed in the forum but if they learn things, I'm pretty sure you will hear same words.

Actually, English is not our mother language and we are coming from difference country can't talk well with English, some user have wrong grammar when using third party for helping to translate from their original language to English. I don't think its serious problem because we are from difference countries and unite in Bitcointalk forum for discussing and exploring our ideas each other. Have difference thing if some one have long in England and talk well with English language can't guarantee they will have right grammar when writing his ideas or opinion in Bitcointalk forum. Some one learn and understand well with English grammar but can't guarantee will have well communication with English language, keep write based on our skill having and correct some little mistake exactly when using google translate.

This is a kind of jargon or sentence that is the identity of forum users who often use this sentence when discussing. For users who have been in the forum for a long time, this sentence may be familiar, but for newbies it will sound strange because they have never heard it before joining the forum. Don't hesitate to ask directly to the member who uses this sentence via post reply or PM, they are very open to anyone who asks and will answer immediately if the member is active.

I think what you mean is some technical stuff related to Bitcoin and Crypto, other than that I believe everything is just a normal English in the general forum board, and in local board too, at least in Indonesian Language everything is just a normal daily word. Maybe if you don't understand some word, you can put more details of those words so people in here can help explaining those words to you.  I mean you just made all this thread complaining about the word use, but you don't actually give the real example of the words, you will not gain anything from this thread if you don't give example.

For several weeks I have being reading and reading but I want to start contributing frequently so I do need any advice on what and how to write acceptable comments here in the forum,  since that is not stated in the rules of the forum.
There is no big deal in writing acceptable responses and comments on the forum, what simply matters is that you're staying on point and not writing off topic responses and you shouldn't feel as if you're been supervised but rather you should communicate freely in the forum and be able to be answerable for everything you write and say on the forum.
The issue I have now is with language barrier and most people haven't realized that English isn't the first or official language of some users and as such, there might be some difficulties in writing the exact meaning of what they intend saying and they shouldn't be judged by words or language differences.
,
The forum has no special language except for the regular English and  my advice is that you shouldn't let language bother you, just spit it out and stay on pint.

Why do the terms, words, and some sentences that are made in Bitcoin talk seem different and  strange to newbies like me to understand
Op, this is the Bitcointalk forum, and things are handled here in a different way. Anyone, who is hearing an all-time high as ATH will be afraid to feel comfortable with that place, but with time you will understand them.  Also, take part in topics you have knowledge of and participate in sharing ideas that will benefit everyone here. Learning and reading other people's comments will also help you understand things here.

This should not be a problem to you OP. You know every field or industry have its own understandable language for which they communicate with so that they flow in their terminologies. Most times they use it to code amongst themselves when they in an environment that is not clear with them possibly for safety or otherwise. Just like the Engineers, Health workers or Doctors, Agriculturists, Economist, Extension agents, Lawyers, etc used their terminologies otherwise known as professional jargon to communicate themselves and there lies the beauty of every profession in the world so bitcoin is not exempted from them. Although there is no place on this platform where it is stated that we must communicate in bitcoin language. No law or rules of such nature here as every one is free to communicate in languages they best understand well but as a newbie you are, it would be nice you take out time to learn about the terminologies so as to be acquainted and conversant with them here otherwise they will keep sounding strange to you.

Thank you for your willingness to guide me to some source,  but more worries is not on Bitcoin technicalities right now,  but major worries for me is how to communicate in the appropriate manner with other senior forum members like yourself because you guys are too professional in your space that newbies are almost left in amazement with the level of intelligence and slangs used in most comments here in the forum. This is what have been my major worries in the past,  but as at now that I have started interacting gradually I am overcoming that phobia gradually.

Just talk naturally. That's it. Write your posts the way you like. Most folks here communicate casually. There might be some fancy words members toss around, but if you read through the content, you'll get it.

If you're doing any serious business with other forum folks, be professional, but in general, you can just be chill. Don't stress it too much.

Welcome to the forum!

Examples of this kind of terminologies that have been difficult to comprehend by you would have been good to help the community because I was expecting to see these terminologies. Also, this is a special gathering of people who like bitcoins so much to want to be in a community about it, so there will be special terminologies special to the group and different from what is regular in the real word. Every gathering of people that has become constant always have special slangs and words that they use. Bitcointalk is just following.

If a person is new in the community discussion and is not yet familiar with the subject being discussed, it is obvious that lots of terms will be new to them.  Terms like hodl is never been a part of regular word in real world outside the cryptocurrency community, it is a word created by a drunk person misspelling the word hold but became widely accepted in this community.

Another thing is when a person is new to trading, terms used in trading will be new to him.  Same way with the term used in discussing terms of cryptocurrency since cryptocurrency isn't much talked outside the cryptocurrency community.  After a long stay and participation in the discussion these language you feel different will become a regular terms for you.

Op, first of all, I would like to say really decent name  Grin, next to it I think OP is normal, to find it difficult while reading another comment, especially on the forum because here most of the seniors and learners like me are know use to with the terminologies and short words which the newbies find difficult in understanding.

You don't need to worry about it, just try to spend most of your time reading other this is the easiest way to get familiar with the market terminologies and in every community (terminologies does exist), soon you'll find understanding these terminologies as piece of cake. In the posts if you find anything that you cant understand just quote that person or a senior with it to elaborate I'm sure someone will definitely get you back to elaborate on that query. Don't feel ashamed if you are not familiar with anything just ask freely this is how you'll become a pro learner and then someday you will be the one who is going to assist other newbies with the same problems.

Best of Luck with your journey, Enjoy  Smiley

OP I will advise you to have it mind that this platform is more of an institution on its own. So therefore, you should expect it to be different from other platforms and activities in the real life and world. Just as you go to school to learn, so it is here. You got to learn more terminologies on school so you could know more jargons as a professional in the making. BitcoinTalk platform is not exempted at all. It is a learning citadel, an industry and employer of labour. As a beginner you must be able to learn them all do you could also flow together so as no ot to be taken unawares when asked the meaning of some acronyms. As a newbie these are the first observation you should make and start to building yourself towards growing up here. With time, you would get acquainted with the terminologies here.

Why is the terms, words and some sentences that are made in bitcointalk seems different and strange to newbies like me to understand,

You're on a Bitcoin (cryptocurency)! forum so you don't expect us to speak like we're having a normal discussion, our choice of words has to be related to cryptocurency and that's where the terminology comes into use like when we use words like pump and dump, ATH, DEX, HODL etc. These words aren't that technical to understand but because you're new to the crypto world that's why it's looking difficult for you to understand what is going on. I'll recommend you do more findings on the different terminologies use in the crypto space. you'll sound more relatable when you use those terminologies when you're contributing to a discussion.

For several weeks I have being reading and reading but I want to start contributing frequently so I do need any advice on what and how to write acceptable comments here in the forum,  since that is not stated in the rules of the forum.

You need some more reading, so you can get use to the terminology users use in the crypto space which will make you to understand what's been discussed as they're been used in discussion. You not knowing the terminology doesn't mean you shouldn't write on the forum as you can also participate in discussion with the terms you know and keep learning more crypto related terms as you get more familiar with the forum. This forum is for learning purpose so just because you don't feel among yet doesn't mean you should be discourage from writing on the forum.

Most of the users are here for long time. They know the specific term and technical words often used for crypto. They are using these words/sentences between each other as a normal discussion but challenging for newbie to understand. You can start according to your own knowledge and style , I hope one day you will laugh that you have voice out this question ever. everything will become normal, just spend some time here in the all boards your are more interested and don't hesitate to ask any question and you will be helped here.

I was feeling same like you and was thinking that i will never understand because I am not fluent in speaking English while some users using very top class English phrase/sentence. I started from local board and learnt alot there. when I believed i am able to participate in other boards then I stared to post there and now it's looking everything Normal.
