There are many factors to consider on why coins/altcoins continue to decrease its value day by day.
1. People tend to panic sell when they saw the market decline.
2. Affected by bad news - that is why people tend to panic.
3. The market is being manipulated by the dev team/ or someone who is in power.
4. Blocked by other countries so people can't trade.
5. People are getting smarter and getting away of crypto once they earn profits.

The volatility of Bitcoin is the reason for pump and dumps. Changes in Volume of coins drives the entire cryptocurrency space.

You should also know that bitcoin price is tied to altcoins. So the price of other coins dumps because when Bitcoin price goes down people sell alts to buy into low price bitcoin. More so, the entire crypto market is down. Less demand for bitcoin causes a fall in price. When there is high demand of bitcoin, price will rocket. Demand drives price.

The cryptocurrency is full of speculators in price and unfirtunately in rumours and negative news as well. When rumour is spread and FUD is in the news, it create panic and as people sell more people will continue to sell and that put pressure on the price.

The price of coins decreases because of some aspects to be considered like the supply and demand factors, the altcoins are very dependent on bitcoin right now, whales manipulation of the price, and some strict regulations by countries.

It is indeed quite promising but now all fall back as the original value. so I think reasonable many were confused and go in such circumstances. to be able to recover it again I think also it took a long time for crypto.
