Um, what do you mean bitcoin crash?

some people call bitcoin cash as bitcoin crsh (because of BCC price crashing), the same way they called Bitcoin Unlimited (BU) as BUG coin. and BCC is the same BU thing with the same people, same bugs, same agenda to take over bitcoin and with the same very low support.
Haha, my friends also call BCC = BitCoin Crash because they know after distribuite Bitcoin Cash, the price of this coin will crashing very more, even maybe drop to some dollars per coin Grin.

Hmm... If everybody is so sure of BCC crashing immediately upon creation, then maybe it makes sense to take a contrarian position. Who knows, BCC could rebound to give sizeable profits.

Why is there a "Bitcoin Crash" planned for Aug 1st?
Are planned crashes regular events, or is this one special?

I do not think the bitcoin price will change much during the 1 August to 3 August. People will just observe.

The net change might not be much, but the ups and downs could get pretty crazy. Not long ago (for example) the market quickly went from 1,900 to ~2,800.

Unless you are referring to bitcoin cash which is basically the UAHF then there is really no planned "crash" on 1st August. On 1st August there is just going to be a chain split between the bitcoin core implementation and the bitcoin cash. Will people dump their coins and cause a crash to the market? It could well be possible. But it's definitely not something that is planned beforehand to crash.

Forks are regular but this one is probably one of the biggest forks because the underlying reason for all the commotion is because people can't agree on the scaling solution.

in my opinion it all started with BIP148 aka UASF and the fact that it didn't have enough support and a high risk of splitting the chain. because of that Bitmain announced they will perform a fork of their own in case UASF is successful and called it UAHF, this is not being used by ViaBTC (which is partner with bitmain) to perform a fork with so little support and split from bitcoin to create a new chain (practically an altcoin). they use the same date as both 2 forks above.

now UASF is ineffective because SegWit has 100% support from miners, and UAHF is ineffective because UASF is not going to happen. but BCC people still push to fork.

Thanks for the recent history.
It is hard to find time to keep up with everything.
