And now OP has 56 activity. Smiley

How many 2 weeks were you active on? (posted at least ones) and not just registered from.

It does not depend on how long you've been registered.

e.g. if you post 14 times in one day in 2011 and then 14 times in one day in 2014 your activity will be 28.

I don't think it works like that.....Or, maybe I was having a wrong info all the time...

I think that's about right. You can get a max 14 points per two week period.

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every 30 minutes.

I have read that post when I first signup, but it seems I have misunderstand it starting from the very first day lol.

I originally thought that an unused old account (say, signup in 2011, but with 0 posts) can get himself promoted very fast by just keep posting. Cheesy

Maybe someone can help me out with this: if activity = min(post, twoweeks*14), and my post count is near 100, then how can my activity is showing up 42? I think that I even spent more than 3 times twoweeks around here, so anyway should be higher.

Any help would be very welcome.

You need to wait another 2 week for another 14 activity increase....

I am loving this new system of activity
Activity is to show that how active is but if that activeness is some spamming activeness then what to do so time frame and post count both are good option, and let me tell you if your post are in good time frame and no spams your activity goes higher before 14 days. it depends on time and your post both.

But if you make over a certain amount of posts all that will happen is you go up by 14 every 2 weeks. Perhaps they should change the name of activity to something a bit more relevant.

Yes, I have to admit that "activity" could be a bit misleading.
On the other side I'm not able to suggest a more appropriate word.

Activity should imply how active you are not how long you've been registered.

Well, activity implies not only how long you've been registered, but also your post count (and how they are spawned in time).

I agree with who says that this is a better system than previous one, as it's a good antispam measure and avoid some newbies to become heroes in a matter of days.

The activity number should in some way be post count related, the way it is done at the moment is not very good  Angry

Why isn't it good? If it was the way you are suggesting people would be spamming to increase their activity. I think this is a better system than we had before and is working very well.

The valid "two week periods" are only the ones in which you have posted at least one  time.

So if you have 42 activity it means you posted something only in those 3 fortnight periods.

Now I am really confused... I am on the forum since November 2013. I have over 100 posts, still my activity is showing 42.

No matter how I am looking at it, should be higher. Any idea?

Depends on when the forums 'two week periods' start I think.
