in fact, there are already very many of them, and there will be more. this is because there are stupid investors who invest their money in any projects, even if there is no honest development plan, and the idea is not new
Yes, there is a large number of kriptvalut. Each of the created projects creates and altcoyin for themselves, but not all of them can be successful as well as bitcoin.
With the current numbers cryptocurrenciy providing intense competition in the world of cryptocurrency. many of cryptocurrency is created for a specific purpose. take an example to rent an apartment there is a token of its own and many others. this is because blockchain technology can be adapted in all business and project
theres only 2 types oof currencies !

BITCOIN this is the majoor one that bloom in our community ! those are the currencies, alt coins are sub--currencies that stands along with bitcoin to stand with the votality oof crypto! and then TOKEN which serve as a trading market and fund raising for those upcoming project that will lead the world into a new one !

Please help me understand in plain English how will we benefit from so many currencies?
I see so many startups with decentralized blockchain ideas with their own crypto currency.
Today I purchased oatmeal directly from a mill at their website.
This mill sells its products thru grocers and other online stores as well.
They probably gave 3% to the credit card company, which they could reduce by using blockchain.
But if every store and every business starts creating their own currency, then I will have to go thru an exchange to convert BTC or ETH to that coin to make some purchase.
Then we would need miners to process all those transactions in various coins.
Why can't they just use ETH? Just like all IPOs use dollars.

Yes because every country needs it. if you're referring to cryptocurrency then its all token that will turn currency in the future. Bitcoin is among the safest coin that will use by transactions.

There might be a time in the future where bitcoin users will be begging for the anonymity some of these coins offer.
Just like many businesses, just like many shops, just like many companies the same is for currencies there are so many currencies and they are trading on daily basis many people are looking at the top and bottom of these currencies and become profitable in the future. Bit coin and other altcoins are very profitable the new currency Ethereum is also become famous in the market and so many others.
There is one currency and that is bitcoin. All other alt-coins have been created as to compete with the bitcoin and to gave it a smaller value. 99% of the altcoins have no value, the remaining 1% of the altcoins have little value. There is no competitor for bitcoin until now. All other alt-coins have been created to make the bitcoin worth less.
It's free money trading in alt coins at the end of the day. It's created from nothing so thats the benefit but none of them end up surviving and thriving like bitcoin
because anyone can create their own coins, this is profit-based and some of them have proven that their coins have succeeded in the market, so many people have decided to also make their own coins by offer something different from other coins.
I think that there should be only one currency worldwide. .
If we use a single currency, this even thought make so many dreams unfold. If there will a single currency there will be no banks for imposing restrictions on transaction taking place all over world. There will be whole different world. This advancement will turn the whole economy balance, there will be no forgery, theft, no fear. Even crime rate will declined. Nobody is dependent on banks for extracting their money. There is a whole different world. There will be peace and there will no fights among countries on money based issues. Crypto currency will take over the money. People will enjoy the benefits of crypto currency like bitcoins. A whole better world. This is my point of view.

I don't think we have many currencies, all we have is just a lot of altcoins or alternative cryptocurrencies, if you check the market cap of some coins you would notice that their market caps are still being calculated in BTC, and another thing is that all the other cryptos follow the trend of the BTC because if Bitcoin goes down then other coins would drop in value too. So I'd just say bitcoin is the only one leading the way

Are you talking about Crypto Currency ? Well Anyone can make there own currency.Recently Russian make their own currency. There's many new currencies a up here. But most of them are scam. That's why investing call risky task.
Every other person who has some money can hire developer to make a coin but very few invest in making coin to the exchanges.
Yes you are right. Just a programmer is needed to make new crypto currencies. But the judge of this is still the people to whom this currency is offered. But the clear thing is that bitcoin is the surest, tested and proven cryto currency in the market. It has never turned down people and should not be underestimated. That is why there are many emerging currency because of the success of bitcoin.

If you check majority of those tokens that you call currencies were created for the purpose of crowdfunding in order to raise fund for their project that is why most of those coin are normally dump after ICO .
What you referr to as "currencies" are in most cases "tokens" which are created massively these days in the aim to make money for their creators exclusively , but this doesn't mean that they are all scamers , there are some legit projects . And you need to choose the right basket to put you eggs in .
