Those that give incentives to post in the thread and reward people who do so are problematic, and thus forbidden.
The deleted threads included such conditions, and were removed as a result.
Airdrops that do not request this behaviour are still there and ok, eg ByteBall or Bitcore.

That's the answer to my question. Thank you.

Goodbye, Z.
Sorry mate that thread is here from 2014. I dont think you are understanding what I am saying.  I saw that thread when it was posted here in a reply.
Are you assuming forum rules expire after a certain amount of time? The thread is sticky in two sections, wich shows it is still very actual.
As long as a rule is not revoked, it should be considered active and thus be enforced.

All airdrop threads are still here. What deleted are the ones started in last two three days with eltc - ebtc - edash - eripple kind of threads.
If some were deleted, then "all" aren't here any more. How could all still be here, if some are gone?
Threads that are problematic as per the rule were removed, those that aren't are fine.

If airdrop thread is illegal in this forum then why this rule imply on eltc - ebtc and other exxxxx coins only. Why not implements to all the airdrops?
Not all airdrops are problematic, we learn which are if we read the sticky thread instead of ignoring it based on its age.

I hope you understand now.
Eventually, you will.

And you got a clear answer from hilarious (which you wouldn't accept, lol).
Then you got two more answers, how many does it take before you will realize and accept it?

Goodbye, Z.
Just because you dont like airdrops doesnt means its illegal or unethical
Just because it's "legal" doesn't mean it has to be allowed and tolerated on this forum.

I asked a simple question why they were deleted. If I knew it was answered before I would not have opened up another thread for the same thing.

Whatever the reason for the deletion (Hilariousandco has given it here), I'm glad that staff
is nuking all these threads.  Bitcointalk has had a signal/noise ratio that's been so low for
so long, and it's about time the street has been sweeped.

Do we need another thread about this?  It should be pretty clear from the dozen other ones
that mods are going through and deleting all the crap.  I don't frequent the ANN section, but
I'm sure whatever got deleted is because it's not allowed.

You didn't get your giveaway, but it's not the end of the world.  There will be plenty of other
crap coins being 'airdropped' (I hate that term already).  Give the complaint department a
rest already.

Just because you dont like airdrops doesnt means its illegal or unethical, actually its way better than scamming through ICOs in my honest opinion. Some poor people like me are earning good through airdrops.

Sorry if it was too much of asking. Cheesy

Goodbye, Z.
No I am not talking about giveaway threads. It started happening since last two days. They were for new e(coins).
Those eTokens are giveaway threads, you can name them Airdrops, but that doesn't change their nature.
Most of them asked for posts in their [Ann] threads and this led to a huge amount of spam hitting the Announcements (Altcoins) section over the last days.
I'm glad some of those threads are gone now. Nothing of value was lost there.

I don't frequent the ANN section, but I'm sure whatever got deleted is because it's not allowed.
There's even a sticky about it, not too hard to find, if you want to.
