No OgNasty is correct

You'd be shocked how much time and energy would be saved if everyone just kept this thought in their mind instead of trying to argue with me about everything.  Cheesy

Question is why the colour is orange and I am most sure maybe not even Thomas know about it.

As we have vast collection of knowledge here can we figure it out why logo is finalised as orange colour?

the only people who could answer you are the people who created it and honestly I personally don't see that much importance, the color doesn't matter, what matters Is the use

I am very happy for coming across this thread, I have never thought of bitcoin logo color and imagine how it will look if it was another color. This thread is educating to me because through it I have seen how bitcoin logo evolved   from 2008, 2010 and finally 2011 .

Maybe it's because there's already a gold color so the one who created that logo of bitcoin decided to choose a color again after years and probably that's the time he choose orange, at least not too far right ? i don't think so. Lol  because indeed even doge is gold maybe they are the only one who don't have originality in the market  wherein claiming that they're more valuable than gold as well but its a prank.!  Grin

Regardless of the reason, as @Mbitr said, it's pretty representative. But sometimes color depicts something that will remain a philosophical symbol. Due to the improvements BitBoy made at the time, we ended up getting more interested in the orange color today.

Even if we have a personal philosophy to describe the role Bitcoin plays in our lives, feel free to change it according to your favorite color. Provided that it is not published as one of the main substitute official colors. If you have a favorite color, then no one will stop it. Everyone has their favorite color.

Seconded. I don't think there was any psychological meaning to Satoshi's first logo color and the one that Bitboy made too. I do know for a fact that colors have meaning and that the play a big part in the branding of any project. Similar to how web2 projects have their own branding too. For Bitcoin, however, I think the meaning is whatever we give it. For me, I feel it's for freedom.

I don't think there is some particular reason why orange coulor is chosen, I don't think it has some deeper message or reason. Probably it's because it's catchy and orange is optimistic, happy and bright colour, so to my opinion it goes well with Bitcoin.

Because that logo, as opposed to earlier version designed by Satoshi, is done in minimalist style, so it could only be a single color and no obscure/rarely used colors could be used. I think the point of orange here is that it's kinda like gold but also different from it, just like Bitcoin. And traditionally currency was made from shiny warm-colored metals like gold or copper, so orange fits this theme.

If you want definite/exact answer, you should PM bitboy. He's last online about 3 months ago, so it's possible he'll reply in next few months. Just brave yourself in case it's only arbitrary decision or orange is his favorite color.

While seeking if we don't have the exact answer our mind start believing or creating excuses to satisfy itself.

It's like moving in circle, To reach end point our mind will keep million excuses but in reality its not going anywhere if we fall for them we will never get exact answer.

Moving straight by ignoring excuses is the only right way to get exact answer.

I thought it was kind of golden or yellowish in color , but coming to think of it... i guess there is no official color for the bitcoin logo as it always changes from website to website and also all depends on the user really. But if orange is indeed the intended color then Satoshi and company should know why they choose this as this information cant be found in the white paper as well.

Though I think there has been no "official" reason why it's orange, it's a safe assumption that coins, along with the likes of gold or anything that has some sort of "high value" is mostly depicted in having a gold color. But instead of picking gold, orange is a color that's close enough to gold, and is more modern.

That's an excuse, it maybe sky-blue ,white ,black or anything else then why orange ?
and we can see amazon is also same why so? Do you know why it is so let see.

No OgNasty is correct, its psychology, its a mood which protrayed to grab our attention
and which the creator aims for it to suit the application.

Quote
Warm Colors: Reds, oranges, and yellows. This is a bright, vibrant set that conveys energy and excitement.
Think of things that incorporate these colors such as sunshine, roses, sunflowers, bright sunsets, and fruit.

As OgNasty posted there are hundreds of websits which can help decipher why we would
use any colour but in the end of the day we cannot know the EXACT thought process as to
why Orange was chosen.

Here is an indepth argument for Orange and how it "suits" the application.

Bitcoin logo is kept Orange why not any other colour?

Do anyone knows the reason behind it, the reason is secret let see how much we know about bitcoin?

If anyone succeed in giving correct answer, I will share their post number's below !!

Psychology my friend...  Everything in advertising boils down to psychology...  When it comes to logos, there are always lots of things at play.  One of my favorites (also orange) is the Amazon logo with the arrow that points from A to Z, symbolizing that you can find everything from A to Z there...  Google about logos and color schemes.  It's quite interesting and there are many examples of subliminal messages in common logos that you probably never thought about or noticed before.

"In the marketing world, orange is often used to portray youth, playfulness, and being bold. Orange is usually seen as healthy, energizing, and attention-grabbing."

I believe , as I say , not a definitive answer , that it’s just the contrast. As you can see from the poor quality image I posted, the gold contrast is low, with the orange it’s a lot clearer and distinctive with the white .
Hopefully another member , can come up with a better answer OP - very intriguing question though  Smiley

Here’s 2 threads that show the development of the logo.

Satoshi initially created a logo -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=64.20

Then member  Bitboy refined it -
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1631.40

The logo started gold and then appears to move to orange , apparently as it’s more bright/ distinguishable?

Sorry not a definitive answer, but hope it helps  Smiley

How is that not definitive? I had the same answer, and I would believe it to be the only way. Maybe that is naive of me, but thats the way I see it. And it is literally the only answer I can find anywhere else online so gonna roll with it Smiley
