Bitcoin continues to be pounded by negative news. Unconfirmed reports about Twitter following the footsteps of Facebook and Google in banning cryptocurrency ads pushed Bitcoin’s price below $8,000 on March 18.
I would like to think its because of the laws of where these companies are physically located ( the usa)
and banning some of these crypto advertisements is a way to avoid any legal pressings which they could be affected by should one of the citizens invest in some ico that is advertised through their services and turns out to be a ponzi.

In my opinion All multi billion companies including social media like Facebook,YouTube,Google are afraid of Bitcoin decentralized fast spreading network and they think that if they don't stop it at the point then they will lose and Bitcoin holders will become billionaires.

I think they did not banning cryptocurrency. They were banning ads of cryptocurreny. Because there are so many cybercrime occur using cryptocurrency. Such as money laundryng and fraud. That is why many social media banned bitcoin ads.. Really sad to heard that.

They are not banning cryptocurrency, that is a wrong title. They forbid ads in terms of fraud protection that are now being made into the crypto.
This title could create some FUD if someone misinterprets it, so think about what you are posting.

These prohibitions are ridiculous. While pornography, fraudulent sites, illegal betting sites, and a lot of nonsense are taking place in advertisements, the prohibition of kryptonia is ridiculous to me.

Facebook is banning all ads that promote cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin, in an effort to prevent people from advertising what the company is calling “financial products and services frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices.” Too many reports about scam and dirty works from crypto currency, that's why facebook and google team avoid this kind of problem. They don't want to use to be a instrument of misleading promotion through the wrong way.

2017 is the year of ICO's outbreak, and many ICO have come out. I am not saying that ICO is not good, but many ICO are fraudulent.

There have been too many scams for more than a year, and most have been promoted through Facebook and Google, so Facebook and Google have banned the ads.

Facebook might be banning cryptocurrency but as I can see Google didn't do that. Artbyte just showed up on Google Adsense banner and there are so many ICOs which displayed on youtube. But i really like if they finally ban crypto you know what, there are so many criminals used their service to promote their phishing site let's say a popular site like blockchain.info.

Most likely, such prohibitions occur in the framework of the attack on bitcoins and other crypto currency, which has been going on for about three months. It is unlikely that such prohibitions occur one after another spontaneously and accidentally. However, facebook and google explain their position by combating fraud in these social networks. How does it actually show time.
This is not an attack on bitcoin and the annoying part is that we are the ones who panic and convert it to an attack. How do you think most people have become victims of phishing websites ? It has always been through adverts such as this.

All these cryptocurrency scams, do you think they do not make use of adverts ? As long as these guys have explained themselves that they cannot guarantee the legitimacy of the companies or ICOs advertising, they cannot go ahead. Simple as ABC, so why are we making something out of nothing ?

It's a bit sad about it, but anyway because of the many scams that circulate in social media, it can be a weak point of crypto to be judged negatively. And also it could be related to a government that really forbids it and still thoughts that it's very risky.
But anyway.. everything will be fine I guess, the price will return at altitude, there are many people still supports on crypto till makes the market more crowded and looks greenish.

Any negative news about cryptocurrencies, usually the price of bitcoin falls.

I think Facebook, Google, has banned the encryption of money, probably because they want to issue their own encrypted currency, rather than advertise it for other passwords. Because Facebook, Google has too many users, it's a very large population.

i also heard that facebook is planning to create their own coin but i dont know if that rumor is legit or only a speculation. however in terms of google , i dont think they are banning crypto related ads because right now i can still  see some bitcoin ads on youtube and other websites related to google as well. so i guess those news about google banning crypto ads are just a hoax. they only spreading it because they wanted people to worry or worst panic , so that they can take advantage to it.

the news to ban cryptocurency to their platform was because of, according to them mislead their customer, i just can't imagine how it mislead or hurt their user... anyways, life must go on to the crypto users, the ban it only for the ads...  i think this is just temporary, google and facebook and other conpanies gets largely  their revenue from the payment of the ads. cutting ads  will surely loss income to their company.

These sites regulates cryptocurrencies and ICO promotion because some of them are not acting in good faith. They only wanted to protect the public because it may lead to financial risk. Some of those are not legit and are scam. And people that are seeing or reading those advertisements might think that those are good investment, but its not.

I think there might have been some accusations of Google and fb regarding cryptocurrencies and ICO promotions, like people can fall for scams, but that's just a cause for these prohibitions, and the real reason may be some agreements between the govs and these companies, maybe they were threatened, who knows.

I think these two social service sites have taken great strides to make it completely clean of the various scams.
Of course, because they are at the top of which is a chance for the fraudsters to carry out their mission.

The thing is, these two company does not want their names to be tainted or dragged by scam advertisement.  They are aware that not all cryptocurrency ICO are legit and most of them are just trying to prey on unsuspecting victims.  Aside from that they are already cases where ICO advertisement on google and facebook scammed their client.  So I guess this is just an action so that their name will remain clean and not to be used by these scam ICO's and company.

I've seen many exchanges that are advertise through google and even in youtube.
What exchanges are you referring to? I honestly haven't seen ANY legitimate looking service advertising through either Google or Youtube's platform.
I've seen those exchanges that are based in my country.

I can now smell why google started to ban cryptocurrency ads.
