Is it because of the large number of altcoins?

If you mean is the dip that happen during last December to February this year then that was because of MT.Gox Bitcoin exchange in Japan in which they sold huge amount of Bitcoin during that months in which it result to totally fall down of Bitcoin price from $19,800 to $6,000. I though it was a normal corrections before but after the revelation i believed that this is a game of the big whales but discovered and revealed.

It won't be affected by them. The common thing that really have a huge contribution for this dip is the issues of regulating all exchanger and Mt .Gox members that are selling their btc in cheap price. If all of thesE will be done, then we see a bright side again.

It actually depends on the exchanger if they are following the official price or not, but since most of the exchanger are trying to synchronize their prices in the market then supply and demand is always the cause of it and we should not worry about the decrease in price since we can invest even more to earn profit.

Nope that's not the only reason. Recently bitcoin has been bombarded by lots of bad news this past few months like the recent sell out of worth $400 or 500 million dollars worth of bitcoin from a trustee from the Mt.Gox scam exchange. China banning all altcoin and ICO's, Korea also banning ICO and exchanges, india making it illegal. In fact its a miracle why bitcoin is still surviving.

Totally agree. There is no point that altcoins affect the price of bitcoin. Bitcoin can only be affected by the whales and altcoins are controlled by bitcoin. The lower bitcoin is, the lower altcoins are.
well, but I do not think that all people are selling bitcoin with the cheap price. Whales are selling their bitcoin in order to collect more bitcoin with a cheaper prce

Altcoins are not in any way hindering the value of Bitcoin, but Bitcoin value affects the Alts prices. Part of what may be the causes of rapidly decline in Bitcoin prices are the effect of continuous lower patronage for Bitcoin because of FUD, [negative rumor spread around the world about bitcoin, whereby the Big whales, Interested millionaires, and persistent traders and investors started restricting themselves from purchasing more, which hereby brought about Deflation. Though it is natural at times, but this situation shall turn over soon.
Bitcoin market always shakes up when millionaires perform. They are the ones who decide the future of bitcoin in some way. Though it is not the only reason but makes a lot of sense.

Whenever there is big selling out, the price of bitcoin goes down and there is no doubt in it, people would have sold BTC when it was 20k dollars to make profit. Now as the investment will increase, the price of bitcoin will also increase. It fluctuates the most because of its limited supply.
Yeah so in simple words bitcoin price is all about demand and the supply so if in market bitcoin holders will sell their bitcoin at very low price then bitcoin price will  be low but if they will have some patience then market will rise again, but people sell intentionally to make market down so they buy again high amount of bitcoin to trade for long time at fallen price, so it’s all planned you don’t need to be worry hold your bitcoin soon you will be a victim of highest price of bitcoin.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?

Price dips or people popularly refer to it as bloodbaths are caused by numerous reasons, sometimes it's a singular reason
and most of the time a combination of them. They may be a form of controversies, scams, hacking issues, major whale dumps
and even trends to say the least. Regardless of the reasons it's quite widely speculated all the time, that rapid price dips or
decrease are always expected within the market. Somehow in a different angle it contributes order and progress. Besides it's a
volatile market adding more fire to it's unpredictable and ever shifting nature and appeal. We all will get use to it at some point,
others have cleverly taken advantage with bitcoin's price dips. It's a matter of strategy and choices from here-on point.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?

Absolutely not! Bitcoin price is rapidly going down not because a lot of altcoins were invented. It is part of the system of a cryptocurrency world. Volatility of bitcoin depends on the market which is for now is not that marketable. Bitcoin isn’t really like anything else thanks to the blockchain technology that powers it. It’s also treated differently than other types of currencies and commodities because we’re still not sure what it’s actually for. That leads to a lot of instability.
The best bet for Bitcoin is that as it becomes more popular and more people buy it, these types of changes in value will go down for two main reasons. First, individual owners have less power over the price of Bitcoin, and, second, it creates stability since more people have a stake in the cryptocurrency.

Is it because of the large number of altcoins?

Well, there's more you need to know about cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is very volatile that its market value will rise drastically if the demand of people is getting high. Its drastic fall is also caused by a low demand because people especially whales are having a sell off of their bitcoin holdings. In addition, FUDs are making the scenario even worst as people are panic selling their crypto assets in fears of losing more of their investments.

It is possible for that reason but as we all know bitcoin is volatile in nature. The price of Bitcoin can also change drastically as countries and financial institutions adapt to the idea of cryptocurrency.

actually this is normal, bitcoin prices are up and down and often experience significant fluctuations. No wonder the current price of bitcoin has fallen dramatically, but keep in mind that later the price will rise again, maybe this is a strategy for sellers and buyers to be balanced.

Bitcoin prices have fallen sharply recently as a result of negative news from governments in countries where the Chinese government banned cryptocurrencies in their home countries, where people own the largest cryptos in the world that is the reason why Bitcoin rates, as well as altcoins, have been continuously decreasing recently.
