It depends on the popularity of the conference and its speakers. On the other hand, there are plenty of inexpensive meetups where anyone can come. I think that the most valuable thing in the cryptocurrency sphere is networking, which can be started both at conferences and at meetups.

interesting take, just was looking at all the summits etc, that have over 100 speakers, thought it could be just a way to be around actual crypto people and even learn things from the expos etc

You can always to volunteer to get free access. Try sending an email to the management.

What does it means "to volunteer"? Kinda watching after the conference and serving the drinks? Bah, nice offer but I would reject it

Just a question how come tickets for conferences are so "sell your kidney" prices.
I know there are tonnes of speakers that you have to pay for etc.
but conferences are meant for learning of crypto, how would that be attractive to the average person etc?

Most of these conferences are pretty much worthless, you are not missing out.

Go to Youtube and look for the real movers and shakers.

Mate you are going to attend a non free conference except if you are a VIP. or you won some free tickets. every conference need to have a very educated person who talks an information regarding to crypto industry so you need to pay for it, (everyhing's got a price mate). ICO conference are held within a certain place when they know that there are big investors who want to be partnered with the project and in order for the project be announce clearly to what would be the platform. a conference is different from a party. Crypto is valuable, so it's either you want to learn something and earn from it or otherwise not take the opportunity to learn new informations and strategy.

Mostly conferences are for "investors" of certain projects, or someone willing to invest to the project. People who actually go to those are already earning big from crypto and also willing to spend few thousand dollars.

I really haven't seen expensive conferences that are held for beginners, They are for average people who are willing to learn about the field.

But those ICO conferences are expensive, and we've seen investors even Fly from other countries to attend to those, so not only ticket for the conference they actually can bear the price of plane tickets and travelling.
