Does seem like it belongs in reputation, but what do I know.
If I had to make a guess, I'd imagine it was a misclick. Perhaps he meant to move it to reputation since its about the reputation of hardware manufacturers? The two boards are right next to each other when moving a thread. Its really easy to make that kind of mistake.

As you say though, its about hardware manufacturers and was busy sitting on probably the 10th page. Why now the prompt to move it after 100k views; its too spooky.

Why did https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/guide-dogies-comprehensive-manufacturer-trustworthiness-guide-1st-feb-2016-456691 get moved to investigations? Pmed Gmaxwell as he moved it but he didn't reply.
