This could be just an assumption as we do not have any proof for confirming that they have made lots of bitcoins earlier. Also, freebitco.in has come into business after bitcoin reached $1200 or the average prices of bitcoins when they become famous might be around $800 which may look like small (compared to current prices) but definitely not in the times of 2014/2015.

Is it? It is a news to me as well. I need to check on the time lines of archive.is if available. If they remained as only faucet site then they might have been showing clickbait ads till today .

I remember seeing such statistics when I used to visit the site faucet. I guess lots of the bitcoins were paid out when Bitcoin wasn't this "high" in price. So you have to consider this, I think.      I think they also have an investment program where they pay some interest or something.
The site has been here for a long time(and probably still profitable?)... That could be a proof that it's properly managed.

The longest-running faucet I have known. Freebitcoin had been trusted by many users since they don't have complicated requirements if you are withdrawing your money. It would be difficult for other developers to create something similar to free bitcoin because most people look for something new and unique, they avoid patronizing replicas of other trusted websites.

They was known to be a good faucet back then and almost all of the faucet that was operating back then was all gone AFAIK.
But now that you have mention it they have been giving out so much since they started they have weekly lottery and an hourly faucet and now they also have so many other option to earn on their site I am also thinking that it might be Satoshi who is backing them up.
Maybe from some of Satoshi's saving that was planned to be a giveaway for everyone but the price keeps on increasing so the prize become smaller everytime.

I think we are the same past experience and look where I am right now wearing their signature for their first-ever signature campaign in this forum. From a total noob that only wants to earn bitcoins since one of my friends recommended it as the best sites to earn them for free.

I guess those numbers are accurate they have been here longer time than any other faucet sites that do dice and lottery. Regarding if freebitco.in was from the creator himself or not that doesn't matter I guess, who knows? A long time faucet platform for free bitcoins they really are spreading awareness throughout the bitcoin community.

Freebitco.in was developed in a time when faucets were worth visiting and they have retained their userbase by not just being a faucet but by adding in more functionality like: the dice game and good amount of referral commission, sharing of earned commission - which I have not seen on any other site, correct me if I am wrong.

Then you have the lucky rolls on the faucet of high numbers to get a good payout, one in which I have been lucky to win the 200$ prize once. The reward point system that helps to keep the traffic coming in every hour.

Then when you see Google Adsense stopped their support for faucet sites they moved on which better stuff that other faucet sites could not cope with and eventually other sites had to shut down. I believe this was a tough time for them but they recovered from it properly and started a sports betting section and a mining passive income section.

It is difficult to make a gambling site like freebitco.in because we need to have a new idea from the other gambling site. We cannot just copy their code to be applied to our site because that will not work and that would not be the same as the original website. Mostly, a faucet website allows its members to withdraw the reward without deposit or doing something because they get the other incentives from the other programs. I don't think that Satoshi Nakamoto owned that website but that could be true.

There are many other sites that you could play in but it offers the "Free Bitcoin" in the name itself. It's just like an immediate invitation towards what we want, free money. Since it's already established and well-known, it's most likely to be hard to copy and be successful in it.

You are right about that. In my early days in crypto, freebitco is one of the first sites that I visited because of the faucet. And I didn't expect that they will live this long here and up until now, they are still offering the hourly faucet. And you can earn daily interest if you have at least 30k sats in your account. And the fact that they have lambo lottery means freebitco really have gone a long way already.

Different sites have different plans. Let their process grow based on their own plan and not by copying content and features.

Didn't you know that in the early years of freebitco.in, there are clickbait advertisements there too? Since they now able to sustain their revenue and put serious effort into building a good reputation, they no longer need much that. They also think outside the box since faucets are literally dead for years now.

For a long time they have made advertisement and the early days were like hunting for faucets. Most of all, searches for faucets that they can get back after an hour or for a certain time just to reach the threshold.

And freebitco, did that.

Yeah, this actually helped them. The early bitcoin people used to knew them as a faucet not an actual casino.

They've earned it and now they do able to sustain it for long term until they do add up even more features but they do actually start from that kind of system but we didnt expect for it to be come more bigger like this.

We know that getting so much traffic into your site isnt really an easy task to be done on initial phase.This had been always a faucet site and been loved by lots and later on they decided to add up something
since they do already established that traffic and normally utilize it to generate more income.

The reason they don't use clickbait advertising or predatory advertising is because their traffic supports the profit motive. This isn't the case with most other websites. They don't necessarily have a business model that you can replicate easy unless you have the traffic. They've earned it, but their business model isn't something that's completely proprietary.

Freebitco.in have earned lots of bitcoin before when the price of bitcoin is very low so when compared to current price then the bitcoin they will reward to each user will be a percentage amount of the btc they earn before plus satoshis that are spent on buying lottery tickets, HiLo and other games will cover the expenses they will pay to users. They even have fund raising to donate for the front liners.

If anyone plans to copy freebitcoin's site and become their competitor it would be difficult since they've branched out on so many different things and pulling it off smoothly probably takes a lot of time and effort since we don't know how they manage the security part of the site. As what Lakai mentioned the number of bitcoins they've paid doesn't look that massive since the price of Bitcoin was very low back then.

You are right, I'm also not sure there will be a similar faucet next time like this freebitco.in.  I tried many faucets in 2015 but only freebitco.in survived.  The other faucets provided free Bitcoin fixed at that time, while this freebitco.in adjusted the price of Bitcoin which step was properly carried out so that the faucet survived until now and was even more developed.
This faucet was also the first time I knew it in 2015, since 2017 I stopped looking for faucets because of the reason that the price of Bitcoin is soaring high and now I'm in their campaign that's amazing.

freebitco.in is one of a kind perhaps the only valid faucet still left that has been able to attract many users with the history of lambo and referrals, I believe that no other attempt to create a similar faucet will never be successful, obviously the other faucets they are only a waste of time

The faucet things closed a long time ago. I think the last example of the freebitco.in genre is now. I think it might be a bit dependent on his gambling activities. But I am glad that they are online, frankly.

You got it right and in fact this is also one of the ways on how i do able to know freebitco back in the past.Common thing for people to do
when they got curious about bitcoin which is to make some simply google search and it is indeed on the first page where every noobs will
surely have the chance on getting to this place in the first experience.

Freebitco did manage to build up its reputation even though it do only start on being a faucet even up to now and adding up more features
as years passed by.

Freebitco.in is not only running for long time. It pays its users, although at times the users thought the reward is low. And with Bitcoin so high (compared to 6-7 years ago) the amounts to earn and to withdraw have obviously changed a lot.

The gambling and various contests make the users keep the earnings rolling in-house which makes much less Bitcoins to have to be actually paid.
They've added deposits at some point, becoming more a gambling site than a faucet. There were voices telling that the games are not as fair as advertised but I don't know if the accusations have substance. But they signal that the amounts played and lost may not be negligible.

It's difficult to make such a business as freebitco.in because of its history.
freebitco.in has started as a faucet and when the owner got enough money (also because Bitcoin rose so much in its history) he afforded to also try to get into gambling business.

Today, if one has the funds, knowledge and willing for a gambling website, he'll focus on making a great gambling site. Having a proper faucet will only drain money with no benefit if the casino is successful.
Instead, if one makes a faucet, he most probably doesn't have money for a proper house to also have a casino, so he'll stick to faucet small business.
