I mean, just to appear on the news around the world or what exactly?

At this point of time every one wants to be Satoshi or wish they are the guy with all the fortune associated with being Satoshi but they need to prove that they are indeed Satoshi 100% because the world will not satisfy with the fake one..

Probably to be famous and get a lot of attention from people
and also to gain some money for exclusive interviews etc.

Fame and from there making money would be the only logic reason I think. Which is naive since we all know the got a lot of bitcoins already.
And being satoshi would mean you could prove it. If you can't prove it, it's prety stupid.

Excellent question, answer: they wouldn't. One would expose oneself to an asston of risk, ESP if satoshi doesn't live in an established country. A corrupt gov or organized crime could take it all.

In other words, no one has an incentive to make this claim. Distrust those that do.

Yeah it is obvious that people want to claim his name. They just want to appear on the news and this way they think that people are going to notice them.
They juts want fame it is as simple as that.

So X group can push their agenda onto the BTC core.

I have a feeling the powers of old are attempting to use tatics that work on the mass.. utterly moronic... completely fucking retarded population.

It will not be so easy to push your agendas onto the core bitches.

Young but I'm not that bold
Because he is an attention whore who wants to get some fame and appear in the news as he is that unknown guy .
I would not believe a person he is satoshi except the first tx ever was spent with a new fresh signature

The Gold Standard of Digital Currency.
Boy, are you Sirs gonna feel foolish when it turns out that Dr. Wright is really Mr. Satoshi.

And if he isn't?  Wink
This:
Is Satoshi     Is NOT Satoshi
You denied HimLose infinitelyWin very little
You didn't denyWin very littleLose nothing
Result:Infinite loss Sad    Meh, 0. Nothing lost

I don't lose anything by denying him.

I learn, I grow, it's how I've outpaced the others this long Smiley

Let me say this:

1. Craig Wright's personality is directly the opposite of Satoshi. Satoshi hated publicity, Craig Wright seems to adore it by the way he is acting.

2. Craig Wright's blog is full of errors and read's like a pretender's. The signature he provides is a fake, and the script he gives has a very obvious error too.

3. No one other than Gavin has been able to sway us into even considering him as Satoshi to begin with. We are basically debating all this on Gavin's word alone. Which isn't what Bitcoin's philosophy is about.

4. Craig Wright tried something similar to this back in December, and he pops up again now for Consensus 2016? Why?

5.

Is more legit than anything we've seen from him so far pubically.

I will be the first one to eat my words or my hat for that matter.... So many before him claimed the same thing and it turned out to be a ruse. I think the prestige amongst your peers.. will be the

highest reward for someone doing this. Just imagine the recognition a person will receive, when it turns out that you invented a technology that turned the age old fiat system on it's ass. You also

solved one of the biggest problems out there... Byzantine General's problem. This would be quite an achievement on it's own.  Grin

Goonies never say die.
The real satoshi, if fully confirmed, has the power of persuasion... and a lot of bitcoins.

Hmm. Good question. Or maybe a better question still is why would Satoshi claim to be Satoshi?

1. Recognition, prestige, to become a celebrity.
This seems unlikely since Satoshi has chosen to remain anonymous thus far. He has specifically chosen to not be tied to BTC.
2. Because she/he is Satoshi and wants to dispute a competing claim.
But there is no other contender with any real evidence.
3. Because Satoshi wants to come out of the shadows and become publicly involved in the project again.
I have not heard Craig have any opinion on the questions within bitcoin. Maybe I missed it or he is going to make a statement after proving he is Satoshi.

I can imagine plenty of reasons why a faker would want to be Satoshi, but not why Satoshi would reveal himself.  Huh
