For me it's best for customers to use bitcoins as another currency or payment method because it's fast and also has a low fees which is best for other kind of customer who want to save some money. And also because it's anonymous and doesn't need to reveal identity to just pay the things that bought.
Why users use bitcoin is very layered and at the same time a simple question. The fact that anonymity funds transfers can not be traced. Therefore, it is a very important advantage over other currencies.
I don't know why you people want to be anonymous when using Bitcoin. It is only good in Gambling. Well i think why customer use Bitcoin is because Bitcoin transaction is really that fast and simple just paste Bitcoin address then put amount and that's it.

That would benefit the customers but on the legal aspects the merchants will have a problem as they are putting their business in risk, we have to remember that bitcoin is not yet regulated and government wanted to account for all the transaction to collect tax.
I think another reason why would customers use Bitcoin to pay is so that they could avoid that 12% tax. Tax is made by the government and they said that it's being used to fund stuffs for our own benefits. But in reality, the tax goes straight to their pockets. This happens in every corrupt government, even in smaller scales.
Avoiding the tax is very beneficial especially to those people that spends a lot of money in groceries, clothes, etc. everything that has that 12% tax on your receipt. Imagine buying a 100$ worth of products, removing the 12% tax then it would be just around 88$. You can use your saved amount to buy other stuffs.

If we tell our user to use bitcoin then they might choose to use bitcoin because its highly safe and is decentralized so there is no fear of paying taxes and although there is tem like black money sop you can keep as much as bitcoin as you want and our greedy government will see our assets but they can't take any action our force us to pay taxes.
People are willing to use bitcoin but they will not rely and trust bitcoin with big amount of money, normally businesses wants their money to be insured so most likely only the consumers will use bitcoin, I hope they will although I am little doubtful of seeing it, this would be a great help for improvement on adoption rate.

And the competition with bitcoins today that it is not tough enough. Because only people are still on the bitcoin industry so if you are going to be one of the first people who are going to use and adopt it then for sure you are going to get good profit with it.

In that case they will prefer to use credit card and fiat.

Most people would surely do that thing and dont bother to have the hassle on exchanging bitcoin to fiat in able for him to spend on his needs. It really depends to a person on how he adopt bitcoin to himself we cant really force anyone since we have our own will and decisions.
A consumer/customer use bitcoin for the following reasons. First of all, even if bitcoin have 3 cent charge than credit card, you are more secured in using bitcoin than credit card since your identity wont be revealed and at the same time it will be hard to steal money from you since you control your bitcoin address. It is also easier to pay with bitcoin since you only need a smartphone connected to the internet to send bitcoin to anyone who you want to pay. Finally, The price is volatile meaning you can earn more money with what you have now. Your 6$ can turn to 12$ and so in in the future for example and you can easily invest your bitcoin and grow it.

I think because bitcoin provides many advantages to its customers. You also know that bitcoin is a payment system that is very easy to use. besides, bitcoin is also useful as a means to seek additional income
i do not see the advantages, when i am in a store. how can i make additional income with bitcoin in a store? why is it easier then reaching in my pocket and pay with fiat? The answer is that if you are a bitcoin earner and if you will pay with fiat then for that you will need to convert your bitcoin to fiat so you will pay some fees to exchange and then you will request that fiat to your bank account for that you will pay more fees to the service provider and then to the banks. But when you will pay with bitcoin then you will not require to pay any additional fees for any service.
Yeah if we are able to spend bitcoins directly for buying anything then there will be no involvement of any transaction fees and it will surely save our money and buying things would become more easier.
I think in that case transaction fees would stay where they are, but they are small so yeah, we can ignore them.
To answer the OP's question " Why would customers use Bitcoins?" - if they don't have Bitcoins, they wouldn't use it. But those who have Bitcoins would for sure chose those stores who are accepting payments with BTC.

I am pretty sure that people who are not aware of Bitcoin ,will certainly not use bitcoin, But what you said about people who are aware of bitcoin are using it is not true, because I have friend who know bitcoin but do not use it.
