Probably fair gives an added trust or makes the particular gambling website more legitimate in comparison to other gambling websites. Another thing is based on the house edge allocated as well the platform on which the event has been developed too makes it provably fair.

Problem is not all sites that say they are provably fair are really provably fair. There are some that just throw around the words and not really back up what they are saying. It's common to see especially with new casinos and fly by night ones. There should really be a body that would handle these claims and check for their authenticity, Some even have their own system and saying it is provably fair but in fact it is not up to standards.

I think there is some group that review if the site is actually implementing provably fair  games, and wheneve a site is found lying about it, they were bashed and have negative feed back on its rating, telling or warning gambles to stay away from those cheating site.  Provably is really needed so that we ca be sure that the site is not rigging the game.

I was not care about provably fair when I was on fiat online casino, what I care was only about the game. If I like the game so I'll play it no matter it is fair or not. I knew about provably fair once I started to gamble with bitcoin. I feel so stupid if I remember my experience on fiat online casinos because of it. Now I prefer to avoid fiat online casinos and prefer to bitcoin/altcoin casinos that has provably fair verification so I can make sure that I'm not being cheated by the house. Unlike what I experience before I know about bitcoin gambling.

I don't know why people wouldn't care about provably fair. It is their money after all and no one wants to feel cheated we all want to win so if you lose because of that it isn't good. So I would hope it would be an Important thing. The description you gave is very good and I'm sure anyone can now understand the provably fair system and can now refer back to this post.

Provably fair is important as it makes sure you are not being cheated by the site's admin by making the results appear a sthey want to. They can make easy profit by doing so and players get looted.
You are right! Provably fair, it's an important thing which it should added in a gambling site, to show people that this site is fair enough to play on it. I knew few gambling sites that allow people to see the algorithm with proof to trust the site.
Yeaa you can take a look to 999dice where they did not put any proof about the provably fairness.
They are manipulating every single outcome there and for sure they are not legitimate at all , pretty obvious scam.
Provably fair is a technology that makes everyone be able to verify your own bet whether everything generated randomly or not.

In many instances people have posted "Provably Fair" on their site and they have no " Provably Fair" system in place. Your average gambler will never investigate further and they will just accept that the site is " Provably Fair ". I hope the more technical inclined gamblers will fill that loophole and test and educate the people who has no clue how this system is supposed to function.

I also hear people can implement systems that looks " Provably Fair ", but once it is tested it turns out that it is rigged. Is this true?
I dont know if someone would decide to put their time or efforts on educating most of the gamblers on how they should verify if a site is provably fair knowing that not all gamblers are tech savvy which they would really have a hard time on realizing on what are the things being mentioned on here about provably fair this is why they dont really care at all as long they would able to see that there are lots of people do play on the site which they can assume that the site is provably fair.

After trying many gambling sites, for me, i don't really deposit big amounts on gambling sites because i do not expect to earn on those. I just deposit to see how and what are the games their. The only gambling that i actually had withdrawal was yobit.net  but that was a long time ago. I do have some withdrawal from gambling sites but the amount is not as high as how much i had in yobit.

You might be get hacked also dude. What have done is perfect to save your bitcoin as well as to utilize the bitcoin in gambling. Still now bitcoin dice roll is working in Yobit site. When the bitcoin value was around 400$ I use to roll for 0.002 BTC for every roll but now value turns to 4k and even more. Yobit mostly operates as a trading platform only.
I didnt even try to play at yobit but basing on the players feedbacks that i did able to read back in the past their dice site isnt really fair at all.I dont know if its true or not but presuming on their reputation when it comes on exchange matter they do really have a bad reputation and i didnt even tried out to use the site either on exchange or gambling.

I don't know if Yobit is fair. Do they have anyway to prove that they are fair? I don't think so. Still many many people play there and it is always busy. The house edge there is very high most people will say and agree. I think so too because you can feel it. I don't like how Yobit defaults the dice to 0.01 and they put that right by the chat so they hoping you play by mistake. Rather play dice on a proper dice site with probably fair and actual support since Yobit don't provide much support staff all. Also the house edge is much lower. Only 1%
Knowing yobit is really famous when it comes on to their support which do really sucks big time.I do really able to see some people do actively make trades there and do make gamble on their dice site.
But rest assured on trading area there are bots who do make auto buy and sell. They might be lower than on freebitco.in house edge but yet they do have more than compared on other gambling dice site.Provably fair do always matter.

Sad to see a lot of websites like Bitstarz still being used despite being brought to light they aren't fair & also abuse terms etc.

Spread this word guys, sites which put the effort in should only be used, they will not CHEAT you of your money.

No need to spread words. They are already well known for being that. Why does there are user that still choosing to play on untrusted/unknown reputation gambling site while there are a lot of trusted gambling site existing which is already listed on this forum. I will name some of them, FortuneJack, Primedice , Bitsler, Nitrogensports, OneHash and many more. Just search for the forum for the list of active gambling site so that you will be always be guided.

That's pretty much what the Crypto Gambling Foundation is trying to establish - A decentralized body of people who believe in fairness and list all relevant sites.

Waiting for more sites to be added, lets see.

It is bit just probably fair it is much more then that. Even if it is oegit and fair they can still withhold Bitcoin winnings. A common tactic is this KYC crap some places do. It's just a ploy because they know at least a few people won't want to do that and they will profit from that. Another method is vague promotion rules so that when they get a winner the deny winnings due to some sort of restriction and ckain they had rules for it which they did but very vague on purpose to purpose make excuses. People should focus a little less on probably fair and more on these stall tactics some casinos like to use.

Accurate observation. The same goes for "licensed" and "regulated" and to some extent even lowest house edge or best odds. In fact, if you stroll through the casinos advertised even on this forum, you'll find some glaring misrepresentations.

I definitely agree that Provably Fair is now the minimum standard. But players do have a rather steep learning curve when it comes to verifying for themselves if the Provably Fair mechanism is as it claims. For the larger sites, there are open-source tools out there to use but that still requires manual verification of each wager made. I admit myself I hardly ever verify my bets at places I already trust, beyond the first few I always do when signing up to anew place.

I also hear people can implement systems that looks " Provably Fair ", but once it is tested it turns out that it is rigged. Is this true?

I've seen at least one alleged case, which you can discover for yourself in this forum, where the system apparently would only show the seed if you expressly requested it. It's since been fixed.

This is one area, where we need a White Hat hacker initiative, where knowledgeable people could test these sites to see if their systems are "Provably Fair" or if the house edge is what is promoted on the site. These people should in no way be affiliated with these sites and not be bribed or influenced by these people.

Most people just use these sites and blow away their money on untested claims. Misrepresentations has become the standard now and nobody are challenging these claims. If this continues and consumers are exploited enough, law enforcement will get involved and this scene will get heavily regulated. < Most of them are running their online casinos from countries or independent Islands, where these law enforcement agencies cannot touch them. >

I believe there are a number of "decentralized" efforts (sorry, I had to do it!) doing precisely that, even on this forum. I think the gambling community just needs to look out for each other, and to learn a bit of discipline by doing their own research.

As you recognise with bribery and affiliation, at the end of the day, it's difficult to rely on information when there are other agendas. You've got services like Game Protect here who also have their own website and claim to protect players from these "bad casinos" but they hurt their own credibility by also promoting affiliate links.

But I've seen more effective cases here on this forum where casinos are brought up against their claims. Community pressure prevailed in some. Reputation is more powerful than law enforcement here.
Can you please explain how the possibility to qualify cost free for our online gaming consumer protection service has hurt the credibility of Game Protect?

I could understand your claim if GP was affiliated with publicly proven scams, but this is obviously not the case.

While several players signed up with our affiliate links, until today no one was willing to contribute anything to qualify for consumer protection service for his other accounts.

They lose 1000s and in total millions to scams, but they are not willing to contribute anything to enforce their claim! This behaviour is likely caused by the brain wash theories spread on the forums that we can not do anything.

One part are the scams and the shills who promote the scams and the other part are the brain washers to convince the victims that the money is lost, even though the publicly stated laws give fully right to the victims!

Yes when you read the Online gambling scams! and avoided to deposit to those sites, then you are protected from these "bad casinos".

Alternatively, you can also put "operator + scam" into google, as GP scam articles are usually always on the first page and within the first 3 entries.

Thanks for the useful information.
I would like to add up something.
The fact that the casino site allows you to view the source code doesn't mean that they are using it as the code for their casino game.

You should always view page source and make sure that it fits the code that they show you, sometimes they show one code and use another.
Don't fall for non-random generators.

Let me just add something also. First of all, there are millions of gamblers and not all of them are programmers or can understand the source code. Now to understand this, they will take courses and we both know this is not gonna happen. So why not just playing the game in limits and enjoying the moments instead of starting the inspection? To be this much concerned about gambling is ridiculous.
